Buying a FC? Questions, Tips...etc...
Looking into buying my first RX7 (FC Turbo 2), still VERY unsure of what is considered good price, problem areas to look for, commonly known components that fail, what do I need to test/check/look for?
How many miles is considered "tired, worn out"?
Just some simple things I am looking into figuring so I dont get ripped off I guess...

You could try bringing a friend that owns an FC to help you check out the car. Then you can get him a beer or dinner or something. 200k+ miles is pretty worn/used depending on whether or not it's been through a rebuild... Be careful because some people might tell you it's been rebuilt when it might not have been. If there aren't receipts from a reputable shop, take it with a grain of salt.

Besides the above advice, you can also describe the car on this forum and post pictures to see what the peanut gallery thinks. Here is an example, and you can see that more information posted on the forum will yield better guidance:

Bringing your friend that knows or who owns a rx7 will be great support.
I bought my rx7 couple months ago, and I had little to no clue about rotaries.
and unfortunately didnt have friends who owned a rx7 back then.
so I researched online, just dig through the forum and the arroncake site helps!

Well I have my eye on 3, I am looking for a TII but I will take an N/A.
I just really need to research how simple it really is to boost an N/A model, I know with most other cars I have fooled with (piston engine cars) going from NA to boost is pretty simple and straightforward nothing difficult at all. Just wondering if its as simple doing it to a non turbo rotary.

Cool, I live in NC and I'm in the market for a series 5 FC.
I guess the first thing you need to do is test drive it, since you can't really look inside the motor for any wear or leaks. Check for hesitation or smoke.
I've owned a RX8 in the past and alot of the Renesis motors were replaced around 100k, but thats probably because of driver negligence.
