Boost tune up

Well you could just turn up the boost, but then you'd blow your engine. It's not about how much boost you can get out of the turbos, it's about how much boost before your run lean and blow the engine. Many newbies have gotten far enough to turn up the boost but learned the hard way that more boost is not good when it also mean detonation.
Unlike ricers with boosted piston engines, tuning an FD for power means much more than ham-fisted increases in boost. You can't just crank up the boost and turn it back down until the pinging goes away. It means monitoring AFRs and other key metrics and upgrading supporting systems to ensure every power increase is not going to cause detonation.
To put it simply, a stock ECU'd car will see problems going from 10psi to 12psi. An upgraded ECU with a fuel pump upgrade and other supporting mods might get you to 13 or even 14psi.
The best thing to do if you're new to this car is to go over it with a fine toothed comb and sort out overdue maintenance work and reliability issues. There are many and they don't come cheaply. Then once that is all in place and you are familiar with the car, begin some upgrades. You will find plenty of info in the 3rd gen FAQ.
