need to change suspension on FD

need to change the suspension bushings on my fd..

guys can any one suggest where i could buy a full upgrade bushing kit for my 1998 fd3s..

which coilover would be best?? by best i mean not to hard and not to soft..

i was leaning towards apexi S type.. but also scared about the ground clearance

Guys i decided i need to change all the suspension bushes on my 1998 FD

is there any place where i could buy a full suspension bush kit online.. and can anyone let me know or give me a detailed description of all the parts that are needed to change all the suspension parts , i.e tie rods, ball joints etc

mahjik thanks for the link.. bro i have something else that i need to know.. these bushes replace everything, cause i remember reading somewhere that the rear toe link inner bush has to stay stock.. so does that mean i have to buy this and on top of that i have to buy the rear link inner bush??

and do you suggest to go for stock Tie rods, tie ends and stabilizer links..

You don't need OEM rear toe link bushings. The Super Now bushings will work with OEM toe links and most aftermarket toe links. Unless you have a need, stay OEM. If not, check out the rest of the Super Now products:

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think you need to stay OEM when replacing the pillow *****. You will need (6) pillow ***** and (12) dust jackets/boots. They can be purchased through Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda 888.833.3400. He gives good discounts to RX-7club members and ships quick too. As far as I remember, he ships international as well.

As far as the other bushings, a couple of vendors carry them:

As far as coilovers, spend some time "searching" and reading in the suspension forum. There is a lot of good gouge there.

thanks mate, for now i am more focused on getting the basic stuff right the links , and the bushes.. later i will think about the coil overs, well i already have mazda speed springs running

Speaking of which.... how do you know if you need to change the bushings? My suspension is still OEM but when I drive over the lane dividers on the freeway, car rattles and feels stiff. Is that just how FD suspensions are?

Can't imagine how it will feel when I put on lowering springs.

You'd need to get the car off the ground and check the suspension for excess play. Here's a good article on the pillow ball replacements:

well as far as my Fd is the only one i have driven, its got mazda speed springs and yes it is harsh on the lane markers......

i know that my bushings are gone.. when i took the first high speed turn around about 170km/h the car sort of lets go.. after a while and if there is any sort of dip on the road then you will see that the car veers off to one side..

taisir,

Some of that could be related to the wheels/tires you are using and/or your current alignment. Those aren't the best indication if your bushings are done.
