Happens a lot friend. First check you exuast manifold boost is very hot and likes to crack them.
2nd try checking the spring that controls your boost maybe it's broke I e seen it happen alot.
3rd I love fcs but like all rx7's are getting old check all your pipping leaks are very common especially if your still running black rubber hoses. Hope this helps a little

if the wastegate spring was broken, it would be overboosting.

What year? How much psi of boost? Even with a cracked mani you should get decent boost. I'd check to either see if you have a boost leak, or if power is down due to the car operating in "limp mode" (read: check for a trouble code)

Oh and the wastegate spring is located in the actuator so if it brakes the wastegate will open with exaust gas pressure alone. These rarely fail however. Depending on the model year if you are getting 4+ psi of boost your wastegate is is fine.

Its an 88 vert with 89 13bt. And the boost guage barley come up off of -20 when I floor it! At idle... going to see wat I can find out about this "limp mode", might be the problem..?!

If you have an S5 ECU and OMP then you can be having problems w/limp mode otherwise S4 ECU's don't suffer from this problem.

I don't know what sort of boost gauge you are using, but a vacuum reading of 20 In/M at idle is normal.

If you stomp your foot to the floor it should begin to spool and quickly go to 0, that's atmospheric, even an NA will do this (sort of). After that boost should build rapidly and the car will make pressure above atmospheric. Only a few retardedly big turbodiesels will make boost at idle.

Did the car ever boost properly or not? If it has worked previously but is now on the fritz then disconnect the vacuum hose to the boost sensor and w/key to on measure the voltage on the Brown/Red wire at the sensor plug. It should read from 2.3 to 2.7 volts.

Great to hear you got it rocking again, restrictions like that can be hard to pinpoint with so many things going on with these motors.
