For the boost leak start checking hoses, couplers, connections and lines.
The fuel leak would concern me the most. It could be the Fuel Pulsation Damper (FPD). They're known to fail over time and it's led to more than one engine fire. The FPD is located under the intake manifold. A small bright flashlight and your nose might tell you more.
How much fuel did you find in the catch can? Fuel dilution of oil on these engines...over time, is common to some extent. But alot of fuel dilution is generally a sign of worn seals, bad tuning, dirty injectors or heavy/bad porting.

I have an Fc with an FD throttle body.
I heard a real weird noise like what you were describing and found it to be a Vacuum leak at the Throttle body.I made a gasket and it went away.
The Problems of having a Turbo system is it will act up when you have a boost or a Vacuum leak.
www.fighters-garage.com Sells a tester to find a boost leak,
You Put it on the Front of your Turbo(or Afm) and then using some pressurized air, pump some air into the system and Listen for leaks.
I bought one and it really saved the Money and the frustration of trying to fix the car.
Now,the gas in the catch can thing:Is the can hooked up to any Vacuum?
if it is I would suspect that you are Blowing gas into the can when you boost.(if it doesn't have a Check valve on it).
Is the catch can hooked it up to the vacuum system,or any part of the old Cannister system?

^misteryx69 - most of your experiences there don't apply to the FD - except for the check valve.
The FD does have a metal check valve for the fuel return that does fail and can cause a fuel smell. Thankfully, it is a lot easier to check and replace than the FPD.
Sgtblue was on the money with his recommendations.

I had the leak at the Throttle body elbow, and you know that Rubber Triangular shaped O ring seal is a pain in the ***.
Bur your Right Gracer,I am more of an FC oriented guy!
I can't afford a Darn FD..(not Unless I sell more FC parts..lol!)
My guess is we're dealing with unrelated issues.
