Blower Motor Resistor?
I'm in the process of changing out my resistor. I took out the blower motor and stuff but can't seem to find where the resistor goes to. Am I looking at the right spot or is it somewhere else?

It's on the top of the heater box on the rear facing the firewall. Take the connector off and there should be 2 8mm bolt to take it off. Or drop the whole heater box and access it that way

Is this resistor part of the transistor/heat sink assembly a separate unit? Do you have a Digi Key part number or one from another supplier. I am in an ongoing battle with my blower motor and the resistor might be part of the problem. I have already replaced the transistor which helped, but didn't solve the problem. It appears multiple failure happened at once. A picture would help too.

Thanks for responding. I have a couple of versions of the FSM, but they don't show very good pictures of the parts. The schematic will show that a resistor exists, but not where it is attached or what it physically looks like. For instance, the transistor that Mazda will sell you is actual a transistor set in a heat sink with some other electronics attached. I assume that is why the high price, over $200. The actual transistor is less than $10 and can easily be soldered in, if you know enough to disassemble the part. Great write up on this done by nonameuser that I followed.
I think the thermal fuse is part of this transistor assemble, but I can't find the values or physical appearance of the resistors so that I can order them from Digi Key?

Blower motor resistor
After a lot of testing we finally found, I think, the resistor for the blower motor. But it isn’t the coil type that is easy to replace from RockAuto. It is a small black box. I will try to upload pictures. This is the only part that gives an unstable reading on the multimeter. Can anyone source this part?
Mrpandasnatch, Did you get your resistor replace and what kind was it. I also am working on an ’88 vert.
