Sweet group b replica! Id love to know more about that.
As to the oil, well its the single most over posted question on a rotary forum and a fairly contentious issue and no one has ever had the resources to test it properly.
short answer, cheap lawnmower oil will be fine, but top shelf synthetic racing oil probably better. Outboard and snowmobile oils seem popular. There are factions where im from that swear by Stihl chainsaw oil as it keeps chainsaws running in commercial applications where they get the absolute **** cained out of them daily, there are others that say stihl is just rebranded Castrol mineral oil.
using a commonly available dirtbike oil gives me the warm and fuzzies.
my advice is ask your engine builder and find out whats available.

Holy **** dude. You are sitting on a priceless unicorn! I cant even fathom...
yeah i use motul 800. I think any decent 2t burns pretty clean. The synthetic should offer better lubrication.
what were mazda running in that thing back in the day? It might be worth researching.
idemitsu is a rotary specific oil if you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

Hello, nice car man!!

As I've been told previously in the past, and came across in numerous threads over the years on the subject, as long as it's JASO FC or JASO FD, you should be fine. For instance, the Idemitsu Premix I've been using, which from my understanding was co-developed with Mazda Rotary engineers, is rated at JASO FC. So thats what I tend to use.

Cheers!!

I also agree that Idemitsu is an excellent choice for a premix oil. Also, would love to see more pictures of that FB!!!! Wow!!!

I use Amsoil Interceptor, it's easier to find and it's JASO FD. But I have a normal engine not a race one

I don’t think brand of premix is all that critical but curious on recommended engine oil viscosity and change intervals on an race engine with what I understand are usually very generous clearances.
