Been chasing a gremlin for a while and need some pointers...
So as I posted on the Introductions, I bought an S4 GXL that looked prety clean; not running so it was cheap. Engine wise it was missing just the AFM and the intake tube; according to the owner it was parked for over a year.
I started working on the car by cleaning the bay from dust and caca stuff. Flushed the entire fuel system and replaced the clogged injectors and also got a new fuel pump (the old one was...well, old and clogged). New fuel filter as well. After removing the upper intake I saw how a primary injector wire was melted and had wires exposed; fixed this and looked around the area to see if there was any other signs of damaged cables (there was none). Took some time to clean the contact points for the grounds around there following 'that' writeup. I also changed the spark plugs and believe be, I did installed them correctly (lol) leading on the bottom, trailing on the top After doing all this and getting some gas on the tank (91) I attempted to fire it up to no avail... I hear the pump going and see fuel going in but feels like no spark is present.... Trailing coils are sprking but the leads are dead even after replacing the lead coils with some used ones that did worked properly...
Checked all the fuses (Interior/exterior) and nothing is blown... One thing i did notice is that the lead coil has 2 plugs; one with a 2 wire white plug and a 3rd lil black cable that appears to be a ground. The black cable is disconnected.
Ideas? Things to look for before I tear out the entire side of the car looking for a bad wire?

With the key set to RUN, check the black/yellow wire at the leading coil connector for 12V.
Do you have a scope? If so, you can scope the green wire at that same plug to see if the leading is receiving pulses from the ECU as the CAS is turned.

will get one up shortly , im just taking a break from outside its freaking cold out lol . apparently my 7 is not getting power to the fuel pump .... but im getting off topic , well does it matter if my intake is off the car lol ? but best bet if you find alot of broken/cut wires would be to replace the wiring harness ( e.g: engine, dash, body ) i personally dont trust wires spliced and taped
