I'm in the process of swapping my s5 (auto) to an s4 TII drivetrain. I've already acquired the major bolt-ons (tranny, shaft, diff, flywheel, and cv's) I've swapped 2 240s to manual before. So if I'm not mistaken, it should all be pretty straight forward. But what I'm worried about is whether or not I should be swapping counterweights when installing the s4 turbo flywheel to an automatic s5 motor. Should I reuse the hardware from the s5 automatic flywheel onto the s4 flywheel???
By the way I'm new to the site.

You need the Rear counterweight that corresponds to the ENGINE If you are going to run a Light Aftermarket flywheel.
so s5 engine,S5 rear counterweight and Light Flywheel..s4,S4 rear counterweight and Light flywheel.
Stock TII Flywheels can go on a N/A engine but you have to use the TII tran,starter,slave..etc.
That is another story..(drivetrain swap)
OH!..stock Manual flywheels have the counterweight IN the flywheel as part of the Unit itself,so you do not need a separate counterweight if you use a stock flywheel.

The NUT actually holds the Flywheel onto the Eccentric shaft( Manual car.)Pretty sure it holds the Counterweight on an Auto or light flywheel and then the Flex plate or the light flywheel is attached to the Counterweight.(6 bolts)
YES,you can Re-use it, if the thing is not beat up and the threads are ok..You can use some Lock-Tite if you prefer.
Get the SPECS on Torquing that thing down.
NOTE: do not forget the "KEY-WAY".without that your whole assembly will just spin!

please torque that thing properly, My buddy watched an rx7 flywheel at DCTC zip off and fly off into the farm field next to the school. It traveled a looooong ways. They take a stupid amount of torque.
I just picked up a beefy torque wrench for this job, but I am swapping a s4 N/A drive train to s5 TII lol.

I read up on a thread earlier about torquing. Aaroncake said that if you dont have a torque wrench that goes up to spec (280-350 ft lb), just torque it to 150 ft lb, and turn the nut 60* more with an impact, resulting in about 330 ft lb. I just picked up a 54mm socket and 32mm for the axle nuts today, and I'm gonna start tomorrow.
Scary coincidence. I live in bloomington too, and I'm also doing a t2 swap on a NA Fc.

over by the mall, however I just bought a town house on west side by the baseball fields. Hoping this weather clears up a bit today to mount my s5 wing, and roof wing !

Shoot me a PM, meet up some time when I get settled in, also if you see a red s4 zipping around town with rust on drivers quarter, thats me

Im having a VERY hard time finding an S5 clutch pedal assembly... When I find one they want an arm for it. I'm not sure if s4 and s5 pedals are interchangeable.
I will have s4 NA trans, clutch, flywheel, driveshaft, diff, and axels available at somepoint this summer when I swap out to the s5 TII. I am staying NA this year but want LSD so I can get to the track and start sliding around better.
fun note for a beautiful friday in MN, was HOONING IT UP in abandoned parking lots by my work for a bit this morning!! woooo fc is a fun car
EDIT: you already have an S5, excuse me for not paying attention. either assembly will work for you. I am not sure you need the TII slave/master if you already have an S5.
