Atkins belt/pulley not available. Belt replacement/upgrade.

Just got a 88 FC NA. First day going for an actual drive and my water pump pulley and engine pulley just fell off lol. (This is my first rotary). I don’t have the bolts but I do have the pulleys. The belts need to be replaced and they are so thin I was wondering if there was an upgrade. AC is deleted and no PS ,but the air pump is still there.

I kept seeing the Atkins kit but it seems they are not available any more.

Is this any good? http://www.srmotorsports.com/sr86plly.html

Any suggestions?

Also I know it doesn’t have cams but I saw something about Timing does it need to re timed? What is it timing? If so I appreciate any link, video, or info on that!

One last thought anything y’all think I should check or replace. Previous Owner drove it for when we traded(traded Miata). But I think it maybe had been sitting a little he said he got it only half a year ago so couldn’t of been much longer than that.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

ps: open to doing a air pump delete if required for a belt upgrade. I think I need a stand-alone right…?

Recommend banzai racing’s dual belt upgrades here: Pulleys & Belts (79-91 RX-7)

timing is set through the crank angle sensor which should be installed with the center of adjustment on the correct timing mark. The crank angle sensor can be rotated slightly CW or CCW to advance or retard timing if necessary.

Yes you can convert to a manual rack if that is what you’d like, or your power rack can be de-powered. Information on this subject is available through this forum’s search feature.

No a stand-alone ecu is not needed for a drive belt upgrade.

Thank you, I’ll look into those!

I was more talking about needing a ECU to do a Air pump delete. I think I read deleting it caused a rough idle without tunning. and potentially a weird smell. I think my AP has already been deleted tho cause I can’t find it lol.
