So if you were to straight pipe the section with the cats, you would gain probably 5 hp which is really good for a low cost mod. Some $500+ mods for cars these days barely give you even 5hp.
Oh and yes you should be fine on the auxiliary ports.
About the pacesetter headers... I was looking at a place online that sells them, and here are the different options you can choose from:
Application Notes:
1 Flanged Collector
2 Slip-fit Collector
3 Hook-ups for smog & engine management sensors
4 No smog or engine management hook-ups
5 Comes with collector reducer. Fabrication required to hook to exhaust system
6 Comes with header extension to connect to stock system. Fabrication may be required
7 Fits cylinder heads with evenly spaced exhaust ports
8 Fits cylinder heads with paired exhaust ports
9 Catalytic converter must be relocated
10 Fits vehicles with 14-1/2" catalytic converter
11 50 States legal
12 Replaces stock exhaust manifold. Bolts to stock down pipe.
13 Long tube header
14 Shorty header
15 Retains catalytic converter in stock location
16 Y-pipe available to connect to stock system
17 X-pipe available to connect to stock system
18 H-pipe available to connect to stock system
19 Extensions available to hook to stock system
30 Includes catalytic converters
So yeah that is a lot of various different setups you can have for those headers.

Wow dude, thats a big list, lol. I was gonna stop by the local exhaust shop here today after work, but it was just such a nasty day that i decided to wait. But I think i am gonna start with a straight pipe replacement for the cats 1st, and then go from there. Any other good not to expensive low restrictive mufflers you recommend? I really wanna keep my dual setup even if it is a 2-1 and back again. Thanks funkjaw, your the man. I gotta start a new thread if u wanna offer your expertise, my tps is drivin me nutts.
To be honest to get good a good muffler you will have to shell out some dough. Brands like HKS, Racing Beat, Greddy, are pretty good. Your best bet would be to hit up ebay, craiglist, or the classifieds here on the forums and find a good used one.
