Alternator squealing

I have a 90 vart my first alternator squealed I changed it and got another alternator with a dual pulley and still squealed I remove the clutch fan and it act fine until the other night the belts are burning and squealing the tension on the belts are fine. So this is the issue when the battery terminal is connected the alternator squeals once I take off the terminal the alternator is fine and working but once the terminal goes go back on its acts up [url=https://youtu.be/5B3gyR5h8VY]

It's probably your water pump.

Power steering or a/c belt could be the culprit also

its hard to identify the proper source without correctly diagnosing the problem

a quick guess belts not tension-ed correctly or one of the drive by belt pulleys has locked up could be ps or ac or new alt

^^ Small world. I'm in Pearland.

And yeah I would troubleshoot the belt tension first before worrying about anything major. Mine started squeaking on cold start up here recently and a quick turn on the alternator tensioner fixed the problem instantly.

I played with the tension on the belt, losen, tighter what what ever I do it squeals. All pulleys are moving smoothly and the belts are new, I took the alt to auto zone and everything checked out good, I use a separate power to the to see if it a short, and I rewired the ground for that battery and it squeals so I don't think it's a short, can it be the water pump, because it didn't before and I removed the clutch fan and it stopped for a Little and now starts squealing again I'm so lost

The fact that it runs fine and doesn't squeal with the cable off and then does when the cable is connected leads me to believe that it isn't a mechanical problem with the actual pulleys or the belt.

I am inclined to believe that the additional electrical load being applied to the motor is causing it to squeal. I know that before adding some additional air to idle (via increasing the ISC duty cycle for electric load) that the additional load that is placed on the engine can cause issues with idle and that the load must be compensated for inside the tune. This may be all wrong, but I'm not sure what else it would be.

This is a long shot, but my FD alternator had similar symptoms. Belt tension was fine, but every time a load came on I got this terrible chirping squeal, like metal on metal. It sounded like my alternator bearing was failing. We finally traced it down to the bolt that connects the alternator to the motor. I had overtorqued it and the overtorque tension was warping the alternator case ever so slightly. Once we backed the bolt tension off a bit the squeal went away. It's worth a try!

OK I'm going to do try see with the tighten on the bolts and I'm going to go buy two more new belts and record everything to see if that helps me out and give ya a better look on what I'm dealing with where can I get a water pump pulley at instead of eBay because auto zone and advance don't care it ?

It sounds like a bad bearing on the alternator..so to speak.
you put an electrical load to the Alt and it can't handle the job so it does that.

I haven't been able to work on her because it's been raining, but if the bearing was bad would it sound when they check it at auto zone ?

It depends on how much tension the belt has. The good news is that if it is the bearing, it's easy to replace if you can find the right one.
