FL 89 GXL Convert to 89 Turbo II

Hello World,
I have an 89 GXL 2nd gen and I installed a JDM 89 Turbo II Motor with ECU and Wire Harness. Should I install the JDM Wire Harness or use the original Harness. What should I be on the look out for? I looked at both Wire Harnesses and noticed that I would not be able to plug back in the wiper motor using the JDM Harness. Will I be able to start the car if I used the original Wire Harness? Just need some technical expertise.

welcome to the board.

the best i can do for now is offer some links and an opinion.

Links:

Opinion:
i would try to make the JDM harness work. add whatever you need to add to it. i would rather keep the original harness intact and functional - just in case.

I will check out the links you sent and go with the JDM. Do you know how to wire back in the windshield wiper motor? The JDM doesn't have that connection, I have to look at wiring schematic. Thanks

S5 N/A harness will work perfectly with s5 t2 engine/ecu. At least that goes for usdm s5 t2 ecu, not sure if Jdm is different.

if so, just have to lengthen wires for tps and cas and switch 2 wires at the ecu connectors.

Im guessing you have a n374 ecu? Does anyone know if there’s still an issue of n374 not working on usdm car?
