i got the whole front clip of a jdm t2 . . . and all i have is a few questions . . . first of if you all dont know i have a S4 N/A beefy . . .

questions:

can i use an s4 engine harness with the jdm ecu? if so how do i mod it?

i have an extra s5 engine harness. how do i mod that for the jdm ecu?

is there a write-up on wiring up the jdm t2 to a 86 N/A rx7??

should i use the stock jdm engine harness?

can i use the jdm cluster?

should i go right hand drive since i have the whole front clip?

plz rx7 fam help me out here lolz . . . aaroncakes i hope you have some good input on this . . .

use the correct us-spec series harness with the us-spec ecu

*Fixed

The j-spec cpus lack emissions stuff required for us-spec n suches

Do the RHD to be unique, your in LA theres like what a million shitty looking fc's there? may as well be unique in the city of ghetto

Keep the engine, transmission, boost sensor & AFM. Then get rid of all the rest of the JDM electronics. Use the S4 NA engine management harness & a US N332/333 ECU. Done.

It's possible the JDM ECU would work, but I can't say for sure that it wouldn't end up like the N374 S5 turbo ECU and decide not to fire injectors. The emissions differences don't even have any effect on emissions. The split air solenoid & 5th gear switch are next to useless, and the EGR does nothing on an engine that runs rich.

There is more to it than just plugging the engine management (EM) harness into the ECU. The front (F) harness also connects to it, and in your case it would be a USDM front harness, which will likely cause problems when mated to a JDM ECU. The F harness also happens to connect directly to the EM harness, as well, so all wires must be in the same locations on the plugs. Swapping the USDM front harness for the JDM front harness would be a massive undertaking, and would result in lots of rewiring / extending because everything is backwards. You'd basically be doing most of the work of the RHD conversion just to get the car wired up properly.

In generaly, using any TII/turbo EM harness in a turbo swap is a waste of time. Trying to use the extra short JDM turbo EM harness is an even bigger waste of time. The existing NA harnesses are all you need, and will make your life much easier.

And no, don't use any S5 wiring or electronics on an S4 car. It would mean lots more rewiring for no gain.
