89 gtus please help! if the car wont start im being forced to sell it .....

i have been given a 89 rx7 gtus which i have heard is special cause only 1100 were ever made and i have one in damn good condition..... i just put in a new fuel pump cleaned out the fuel lines and gas tank put fresh fuel in put power to it and the mottor just turns over how ever did find out my ecu was all disconnected so plugged it all in and tried push starting it since i didnt have any power to hook up to it and nothing any help would be greatly appreciated i want to see this car come back to life like it was a few years ago before it was left sitting for a few years!

have a 89gtus in really great shape even though it has been sitting for about 7 years outside.... yea shocking i know! i spent all day today working on it put in a new fuel pump, cleaned the intake, and cleaned out the injectors as well as the fuel rail had one thing that i was not sure of! one of the nipples on the fuel rail i blew compressed air threw and no air went through should both nipples on the rail be able to pass air through?????? if so i think this is why the car is not getting fuel and firing. PLEASE HELP ME REALLY WANT TO DRIVE THIS BEAUTIFUL FC

It sounds like it's been improperly stored, so you have some work to do. An overhaul of the fuel system would be a good start.

CA Could be flooded

Your engine could be flooded. try this 3 step cure and if doesn't work, email me and I'll send you a more complex thing to try.

Easy 3-Step method(1986-91)

PREPARATION

Battery needs to still have a reasonable charge. If engine is cranking slowly, please charge battery first or connect jumper cables.

STEP ONE

Locate main fuse box next to battery under the hood.

Pull innermost fuse from fuse box and leave out. Lid will have fuse labeled as "EGI Comp" for 1986-88 models and just "EGI" for 89-91 models. Note: some models have empty spaces for options on vehicle. There will be no fuses in these spots.

STEP TWO

Once fuse is pulled and left out, get back inside vehicle. Hold accelerator pedal to the floor and crank for 15~20 seconds. Vehicle will not start during this procedure. Remember, it is key to this procedure that you hold the accelerator down and crank the engine at the same time.

STEP THREE

Turn ignition off and go back to the main fuse box. Place innermost fuse back in place and get back in vehicle. Try to start vehicle like normal WITHOUT touching the accelerator at all. If vehicle doe not start within FIVE SECONDS, it’s not going to start without doing the "three-step" method again. Sometimes this procedure has to be done five or six times to get vehicle started. If vehicle still won’t start, make sure battery is charged adequately or proceed to complex process, if your mechanical abilities allow.

Note: Vehicle will smoke heavily for awhile after startup. The more flooded the engine, the longer it will smoke.

looks like you took care of the fuel system.

check for spark and compression....still need to determine if the fuel pump is working as well.....

If you're doing the deflood process then that would be the 30 amp EGI fuse, which is not the Main fuse.

An S5 doesn't actually need the EGI fuse pulled to flood-clear. Holding the accelerator pedal to the floor will cause the ECU to cut fuel during cranking.

There are two relays associated with fuel. One is the Circuit Opening relay located under the dash and just to the right of the steering wheel. The other is the Fuel pump resistor relay located under the air filter box. Why do you believe the fuel pump isn't working? The Circuit Opening relay is powered by the 15 amp Engine fuse located in the interior fuse box.

Ok so the other day I pulled the fuel line and it would poor fuel all over now I have nothing coming out at all and I also found out tonight I have lost spark as there is no spark coming off the plug wires. We tested it with old screwdriver trick and saw no spark at all

The 15 amp Engine fuse also powers the Main relay which powers coils, injectors, ECU and so on. 99% chance that interior fuse is blown.
