I just pulled out the radio from my 1988 GXL that I just bought to try to troubleshoot some issues and now I'm having trouble putting it back in. The two motorola plugs are too short for me to reach and plug back into the connectors on the side of the radio. Is there a trick to getting those plugged back in? So far, I taken the glove box out to see if there way another way to get access to the back of the radio, but I'm not finding any space to get my hand in there. Is there extra slack in the antenna cables that is secured under the dash somewhere? I can unscrew the bracket holding the connectors on the radio side and connect the cables, but then there is no space in the radio cavity in the dash to get that bracket back on. What am I missing here? I've included some pictures of how short the antenna cables are.
