Stereo Installation : How does one hook up the antenna?

Hello all,

I'm just curious if anyone knows how to hook up the antenna to an aftermarket headunit? I see the two female plugs...do I need a male/male cable or is there another way? Help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Gavin

just use the big one only (the smaller one is the diversity if i remember correctly..been awhile)

reception should be fine without it.

Thanks for the input but how do you connect the two cables? Both the deck and the car have a female connector.

Thanks,
Gavin

goto an audioshop, radio shack, or autoparts store and get the a male-male antenna cable. plug it up. The smaller one thats for the diversity antenna is not used.

Mine tip was cut.

Do you know where I can get a another plug for it?

Also, My antenna is broken. All it does is just grind so I just unpluged the switch for it.

Anyone know where I can get a cheaper mast for it as the dealerships are crazy as far as pricing goes.

I had my antenna shaved off, and now I'm using an amplified internal antenna. It cost me about $30 from autozone and measures about 3"x1"x1" from eye balling it. Either way its pretty small, gets good reception, and will fit about any where you want to mount it.

Has anyone setup a Fuba Betaflex D amplified antenna on their car and how's it working out for you? How well did it fit up? Any issues? How is reception of both AM and FM?
