Speak to it nicely??..(just kidding!)
The speedo hooks up at the Transmission and the Cluster and is cable driven( no electric connection involved to tell you MPH).
You gotta get dirty and check the cable at the trans, the cable at the cluster connections.

I've also seen the rotating drive inside the cable break, so if the above 2 checks prove good but the speedo still doesn't work, try this.

White smoke is burning coolant, is your car "drinking" coolant?

When you first start it does it pour white smoke out the exhaust?

The smoke at high rpm could be your oil control rings, if they're bad oil blows by them an into the exhaust, the higher the rpm the more smoke you'll see.

No coolant levels are fine, yes on start up, and would oil control rings require a full rebuild?

Pretty much have to rebuild the engine to fix anything internally, depending on how bad the white smoke is it could be your coolant seals.

Does it sputter when its first started then clear up?

Have you replaced your spark plugs, checked your timing, and checked your tips adjustment?

Also check and make sure your spark plugs/wires are hooked up to the right places.

If you have your trailing side hooked up to the leading side , and your leading side hooked up to your trailing side, or anything else hooked up improperly it will causes issues.

timing, no. plugs are new, wires are hooked up right, tips?(tps?) no, it also only likes to start nice %60 of the time.

On a second note i really want to swap a bridgeported motor in it that has s5 rotors, but idk how much that would cost. could anyone enlighten me?

Assuming you have the motor you'll still need a standalone engine management system, which alone will cost around $1000

Probably, it'll cost around the same but you'll have to swap in a turbo drivetrain or adapt your na to fit the turbo stuff.

You'll also need to get all the turbo sensors and the turbo ecu, etc.

That's what it takes to fix it, nothings free other than the labor you're personally doing yourself.

Cheapest way out is to get a good used running engine and just take yours out and swap the new one in.

Used stock port s4 na engines go for around $400-600 if priced to sell.

..and again you can't get 300 in an N/A unless you are in touch with the "Lord"..and that is MONEY.
I think you had better start reading instead of wishing. No offence intended my Friend,But a 2 rotor 300 hp N/A engine hasn't been done.(yet).

Aren't pported na's close to 300 HP?

If they are its flywheel HP, not HP to the wheels.

Na s4 stock port will get like 150 hp to the wheels with mods, a street ported one will be lucky to get 150-190 depending on quality of the street port, mods, and tune.

No matter how you look at it, its gonna be expensive.

I personally put $2000-3000 into mods on my old na s4 rx7, it was rebuilt street ported with a full header-back exhaust, and a few other things, and it probably was 150-160hp at the wheels untuned.

If you want power and are willing to spend the money go turbo swap.

You'll be disappointed in the power you get for the money you spent after everything is said and done if you go na, turbo has the same power stock as a modded na.

...however if you mod your turbo improperly or dont maintain it properly you'll blow the engine, name is much more forgiving and a better learning platform if you have little or no experience with rotary engines.

Craigslist.com , eBaymotors.com , jdm importers, http://www.rotaryresurrection.com

Best bet is to find one locally from someone on here

I don't mean to discourage you from getting an na, they can be quick but you'll wish you had a turbo.

You can see my old na on YouTube if you look up streetported na rx7 redlining , I was shifting lower than I could have, could've shifted at 8,000 rpm.
