Hi, I'm Mark. I have an 85 rx7. Usually runs good, even just passed smog, but I an having a problem. When I get on the gas at about 3.5-4 thousand RPM the car boggs out bad. Like no gas, but then it will run fine at low RPMs. I have dropped the tank and it was really clean. filter is new. Sometimes it won't have a problem at all. I am confused. Any ideas? Thanks Mark

welcome to the board.
i will assume you have a 12A car since you didn't mention that you have an SE.
the first thing that comes to mind, given the RPM range, are the secondaries. my doubt lies in the fact that you describe the problem as being intermittent. in my experiences, they either work or they don't, but i am a rotary student, so i am aware that my experiences are not all-encompassing. my next guess would be maybe your pump is giving end-of-life signs. so i have a couple of questions:
when it's behaving normal, are the secondaries coming on-line?
when you're experiencing the problem, does the car continue to rise above 4000 RPM - and if so, does it feel normal or "flat"?
any signs of misfiring/backfiring when it does it?

I had the same issue the cause in the begining was that my filter was cloged.. It wasn't the high flow filter but a hidden filter (cone shaped) inside a rubber line connected to the fuel pump. Then after a while it stared bogging once again! this time it was because the lines were clogged inbetween the tank and fuel pump after i managed to free them the cars hasn't bogged since.. Make sure theres no gas leak under the car or by the engine(like the damper/regulator area)If non of these help try some sea foam or get the injectors cleaned.. Good luck.
