84 GSL-SE Air Conditioning Conversion to 134A?

84 GSL-SE Air Conditioning Conversion to 134A?
My A/C has been requiring a can of refrigerant per year but now that doesn't cut it. Anyone converted their systems to 134A? I can probably replace the compressor, dryer and expansion valve myself, but thinking a local shop might be more competent to do it? Thanks for any advice.
