A/C conversion R-12 to R-134a question

Anyone have experience converting an R-12 A/C to R-134a?
Or using one of the R-12 alternate products, e.g. Freeze-12?
Or using one of those inexpensive kits like sold at Walmart?
If yes, does it work OK? How long have you used the converted system, e.g. without damage to old system components?

R12 has better refrigeration characteristics. Find a shop that has the stuff: prolly cost about $150.

134a will work fine when retrofitted.

You dont need a kit, all you need is new fittings to go onto the compressor. Drain all the old 12 out, find all the leaks in your system now LOL and then fill with 134a oil/freon ...
