4 rotor reliability

Hi guys, noob here. Looking for a 4 rotor and was wondering how reliable it is. How many miles before a complete rebuilt (street driven) ? Defined Autoworks look to be THE shop in North America.

Thanks

i don't think too many people could really answer your question. how many people daily drive a 4 rotor car? there's probably less than a dozen people who have them in street cars and mostly they are garage queens.

A 4 rotor is gonna give you power, not reliability - I wouldn't count on it lasting nearly as long as even a 3 rotor.

amount of rotors is irrelevent, it's how the engine is built and run that matters for longevity.

but it's a dumb question anyways, considering a 4 rotor build is going to run anywhere from $50k to $100k+, and we see topics like this far too often from people who are oblivious to the costs involved.

As said above, it depends completely on how it was built. Was it cobbled together from random 13Bs? If so, the cooling will need to be optimized. Oil flow is another big issue. That said, the rotary that won Le Mans was reportedly disassembled and analyzed, and the engineers said it could run another 24 hrs after the analysis. Take that however you want.

Thanks for your input guys. I will check with Defined Auto if it is a possibility and will keep you posted.

Sure, but why go through the trouble and cost of 4 rotors if you aren't gonna go for power....

Dont you run into problems with rotor wobble the more rotors you add and the longer the e-shaft gets?
id also imagine you'd start running into lroblems with oil supply and keeping consistant temps across the keg,, all of which can be accounted for with extra engineering of course but one does not simply drop a 4 rotor into a daily driver without having extremely deep pockets.

street cars don't live at 9k RPMs, mostly they just idle and spend their days at half the redline, regardless of build and power potential.
