2nd gen technical question
2nd gen technical question
I want to upgrade my coil packs to msd blaster ss pack or some sort of high performance aftermarket coil packs to improve spark and combustion. I don't want to have to change my ecu or do any major mods. But how do I go about doing it, or how do I go about beefing up the stock coil packs? if I need to make mods what would the need to be?
What modifications do you have on your car? If you're still relatively stock and it's kept at stock boost, then there's really no need for amplified ignition IMO. Why fix something that isn't broken?
And of course there are things to do with the stock ignition that can help...new plugs, new wires and coil harness. Clean stock grounds and even add some 6 or 8 gauge auxiliary grounds.

I'll second above info; if they're not broken, there's no need to upgrade the stock coils. I'd check the wires on the coil harness, run fresh NGK's, and get some nice coil wires if only for looks
I have brand-new grounds ngks and wires but the coils are still the original coils from 1986 and they are going out its part of the reason why me engine had to get re-done. just trying to figure out what good aftermarket high performance coiles I could run without a crazy setup being involved.
