2nd gen no start
I recently put a new oil cooler on my 1988 fc but it sat for about a month and a half now its showing what other problems it has. Does anyone know of any shops or independent mechanics that will work on rotary motor near alabama or near Orlando, Florida?
welcome.
what exactly are the issues you're having with the car?

I know for sure there is a gas leak around the bottom fuel injectors which I think are just o-rings but the guy who owned it before me made a mess of the wiring. I'm hoping once the gas leak is fixed I'll be able to drive it to a shop that will work on it there just aren't any in Alabama. The only guy I've found that will work on it is all the way in Tennessee but I'm moving to orlando soon so if i can find a shop near there that'd be awesome
I live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama but I'm moving to Orlando, Florida soon and from what I can tell there are more rotarys down there so I should be good. I ended up taking the car to the Birmingham dealership and they fixed it in a day couldn't ask for anything better.
I thought that my 87 FC3S Was hopeless too, when it would not start but I (Towed) it to a mechanic I could trust (not a specialist on Rotary Engines)
You will find that starting related issues especially EGI issues, which was the problem with mine not starting. a good mechanic can get to the root problem to get you going.
I had to replace the fuel pump, and have the engine wire harness replace (about $700 parts and labor by local mechanic) Then it started up no problem I drove it home ran great until the first time the engine flooded (common for newbies as I have learned).
If the wiring looks shot on yours that is where you should start, the car is more like a computer than I expected LOL.
