hello, I am looking at a 1999 rx7 to import in a few years and am wanting to prepare for it, I know the oil and am wondering, what type of battery to use? it is a manual if it helps. thanks in advance.
I don’t recall the stock size off-hand but almost certainly the same as my S6 and any parts store sells them...they aren’t unique. WHY you would want to buy a battery “a few years” before you buy the car is another matter. But it’s good you “know the oil”....I guess.
Everyone, remember this is the New Member Technical section and the first rule is...
Besides, it's a good thing he came here to seek information. Better here than some JDMtytedawgsyo honda forumz
All FDs use the same battery, Group Size 51
Don't mind evo_koa and SgtBlue too much in this case. The RX7club tends to have a good sense of humor and no one gets too upset at some good-natured joking like this. But such should be toned down for new members okay? Let's set a good example by offering sincere suggestions such as referring to the FAQ for the appropriate generation.
Jarombean, is this going to be your first car? Reason I ask is because FDs have a BRUTAL learning curve, are very temperamental and this adds to confusion/frustration beyond the normal issues associated with a Rotary Engine. From my experience, I am grateful I began with a Series 4 non-turbo FC (86-88) that I paid $1400 for, especially with people like Aaron Cake to ask for advice. Between this and having a good friend show me firsthand how to approach certain issues, it makes things much more enjoyable. It made me want to learn and do more, eventually leading to a 20B-REW sitting in my FC and a Borg-Warner T-56 in the closet, waiting to go in.
Plus, parts are generally cheaper too
