1988 GXL cruise control

On my RX it shows that the cruise control does work, the main light turns on but it does not have a back light, but I can see the words main turn on, when I press the side button it also turns on the cruise light as well, as I let go of the accelerator pedal the vehicle looses speed and just coasts down, is there a vacuum line that I need to look for or something on the throttle body? all input is appreciated, thanks Y'all.

Did you confirm that the cruise control cable is connected to the throttle pulley? (Don't know the scientific term).

It could also be like my air conditioning, where our had all the buttons and stuff, but no actual compressor or hoses

There are two cables that go in opposite directions. The one that goes toward the driver side connects to your gas pedal, the one that goes towards the passenger side goes to your cruise control.

Ah thank you, I think I am missing that part, I'll have to go get them, is the cable a regular throttle cable?

Looking at parts on eBay, I think it might be enclosed in the actuator (I mistakenly labeled it the control unit in my picture).

I'm not as smart as others here, so I don't know if it's replaceable. Seems to be a lot of complete units on eBay though for fairly cheap (as far as 2nd Gen parts go, $40 ain't bad).

Honestly, I have never turned cruise control on in my car

Well it seems that all the parts are present, i'll look again at the vacuum line and see if it is busted.
