Is it possible to hook up the cruise control buttons to control the stereo?

So I have the protégé steering wheel and I was wondering if I grab a PAC steering wheel controller can I use it to control my radio? I know I only have three buttons on my wheel so it would be perfect for a mute control and the other two could be set to scan forward and backwards.

Is it possible to hook up the cruise control buttons to control the stereo?

There are only 2 wires through the clock spring, so whatever you can control with 2 wires.

So I think I can do this. I was reading the PAC SWI-RC instructions, In Appendix C it refers you to using Resisters to each buttons so I guess its worth a shot.

In that case, you can utilize all 3 buttons, just modify the circuit board with the correct resistor value.
