1982 RX7 Stock carb differences

I just bought a 1982 RX7 that did not have a carb on it. I have a 44 IDF that I could use but I’m not finding much for intake manifolds for it. If anyone knows where to get one or how to build one could you point me in the right direction?

now the main reason I’m posting. I am not finding a lot of info on the stock carb and there are only a couple on eBay. How do I tell which carb is for a 1982 rx7? If anyone has any info or anything would be appreciated. Having a hard time finding one. The couple that I have seen are all different.

It is a GSL with an auto trans and AC if that changes anything. 12A engine.
Also since I can’t post in the classifieds yet. If anyone has one they want to get rid of PM me.

Post a couple of pics of the top of the engine. There are a lot of ancillary parts, like the rats nest, that are advised to have if using the stock carb. If those parts are missing, going to the 44 might be worth it. Also post a pic of the 44.

Intake manifolds for the 44 can be found here and sometime son ebay. Intake Weber - Early Rotary & 1979-85 Mazda RX-7

I could only find intakes for IDA carbs not IDF and I think they are different. I believe it still has the rats nest. I will get a picture up later today. My Weber 44 IDF is in like new condition. I have a pair of them that I ran on my VW dune buggy until it spun a rod bearing.

here are some pictures of my engine bay. Just got done polishing and waxing too. There are 3 different carbs on eBay I am looking at. Would an rx4 carb work?

Car looks nice. A 1981 to 1985 card will work. There are some small difference but will still work. Unless your dead set on going with an after market card, I'd stick with a factory one.

You can find the factory service manuals here. Foxed.ca It will really help getting things put back together

What part of Kansas are you in? If you're close the KC I can help..

I live in McPherson so not the closest to KC, but could be further away. I ordered 2 different carbs from ebay and can return one or both if they are wrong. I am including a link. Let me know if you think they are the right ones? I will return both of them if I messed up and ordered the wrong part.

Neither of those are from an RX-7.

You need something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Rx7-Ca...wAAOSwkZleyKXT

I ordered the one that you linked to and canceled the others. Too bad I’m spending half as much on the carb as I did on the whole car haha.

That ebay seller is requesting more money for shipping after I bought it which is against eBay policy so we will see if this works out. If you had any that you would sell I would drive up this weekend and get it.

I sent sent you a PM about looking at carbs this weekend. Now that I see they wanted more money, I understand.

If you have enough posts to run a classified ad here, do it ( WTB Stock Nikki in good shape). There are always people parting out cars on the forum. I did a full rebuild/strip/"Sterling Mod" on mine and then sold it here for about $100.
