People complained about the admission price and what not, wait until you see how much they are going to charge. The food and drink aint going to be cheap either so all the penny pinchers will be whining too. As far as a small vendor selling items, you better just sneak that **** because im sure englishtown will want a hefty fee if they even allow tables to be set up- probably want you to spring for a booth.

But at least there will be girls in bikinis!

Who says I aint positive!
Now im just having fun with it because in the past all these things were taken into consideration when events were planned.
Hopefully Jay and the "commission" come up with someone to fork over some heavy coin to ease the burden.
Let's look at the positives...

The event is going to be held at one of the nicest tracks in the US. You actually have real working and clean bathrooms, feel great bringing your GF now or kids or wife! There are even lights there so when it gets dark, the lights come on!

Mazdafest will be sectioned off to your own area, not sharing with others. same as Island.

The money issue was a huge deal at Island, There is no money being exchanged between forum members, you pay Englishtown to enter and that's it.

Food is not expensive, you can buy your own for $6-8 with a drink from the concession stands. Does that mean we will not be BBq'ing? Hell no, I got a few grills ready. Don't want to buy? Bring some!

It's going to be at Summer Slam where you will see some of the fastest and nicest rotaries from the US and Puerto Rico. You will meet some of the most famous people in the rotary community.

There are tons of vendors already set up since it's summer slam, a lot of great rotary products too, from apex seals to intakes, ecu companies etc...

Be positive, pitch in and see what we can do to make it a great fun event for everyone.

Anthony, I can appreciate your very well put and conveyed post.
It does bring up alot of positives.
Not to beat a dead horse- but the parks the event was held in before had excellent bathrooms, tables, and even swings and slides for kids.

It was a intimate event with only our cars there, almost everyone "knew" each other. Lots of laughing, riding around on the pocket bikes, good food and good times. My wife and I would go, we even brought our dog one year- we all had a good time. Im just not into the large crowd thing.

Call me old fashioned, but I just like the more intimate setting. You obviously frequent the track often and im sure will be going down the track taking advantage of that. Piggybacking onto a event that would be held if we were there or not is just not my idea of a annual meeting that was once rotary only, its more like any other meeting.

I guess the powers to be have some plans- hope they pan out and make the event get past being part of another event.

Hey rob, i dont want to keep blowing up the spot. I have talked to the track manager and he said if this years event is sucessful and everything works out, i will work with him in Early november to possibly get a date iin 2009 just for US, not piggy backed or shared with anyone else.

So yes we are planning to have our own event eventually but how are we going to do that when at island there were no vendors or sponsors. IM working so hard on trying to get mazda/mazdaspeeds involvement in all of this so that we can hold down the track for us MAZDA cars not shared with anyone else but us.

So you cant just look at it now for what its not but what it can BECOME if we work hard at it and get some recognition. Trying to get something as big like Sevenstock/Mazda Rev it up type of atmosphere but catered to us (mazda rotary, and mazda enthusiasts)

So no one has set up any RF replacement since last year, and im def trying as hard to get something off the ground so we can congrugate this year. **** you can come to any nyra meet and have 70 cars chillen, bbqing shooting the **** and having a good time. If thats what ppl are yearning for come to any NYRA meet we are available once a month from April thru October.

Rob, you could always get a little park for yourself so it can be intimate. And then maybe do a few burnouts, break some toilets so you will get banned from it. Like the fests of old!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh the memories!

Im one of the guys that went around the parking lot when everyone left helping to clean up everyone's mess.
I brought food, drink, tents, seats, etc.. and let anyone who was there share it all.

When I critisized those for behaving like animals some of the response was sort of along the lines of "oh we are car guys what do you think we are to do" or some bullshit like that.

So once again let me say im sure my presense wont be missed.

hopefully see you at one of the smaller and more local to my location meets, Ill bring the beer and soda.

jay are you working with ray on this...
it gonna be hard pressed to get mazdaspeed involved in a drag show event...
most of their sponsorships have been with lefty righty gatherings... and teams that actually compete..
last time ive seen any sort of offering with shows have been shirts.. keychains.. paddock visits.. etc
only monetary value ive seen and recieved are in the form of parts discounts from competition membership..
as far an englishtown schedule for next year thats rotary only... has etown given you a ballpark figure on track costs with insurance..

Actually im working on it with Ray and Marlon, **** is that its a lot of red tape we have to go thru, so its an option but will take some hard *** work to pull it off. It wont deter me i will still try, but worst case it doesnt come thru, we will still find other ways of obtaining help.

Just tol let you know. They do not allow bbq grills anywhere near the cars.
as far as food its actually the most expensive of any track I have ever been to in my life and I have been to a **** load. But we are all grown and can afford it as long as you don't bring 10 kids.

We BBQ all the time right next to the cars at Englishtown, Atco Raceway, Viriginia International, Island etc... , everyone does. These events are major events and they have to allow cooking, most of the guys that stay there with the large trailers have to cook at the track. I've been to every event at Etown in 2007 and cooked for all of them since we go as a group and it's much cheaper to all chip in and get hot dogs, hamburgers and sometimes even steaks!

Actually we always BBQ too when we go to Etown. Me and Josi (RX794) bbqed at one of the events this summer and made some good *** ADOBO burgers which we shared with fellow rotorheads such as Chrism, Kel RX-8, Anthony and others lol.

So yeah come chill with us, we always BBQ

Now I have this bad a$$ oil leak, dont know where it's leaking from. So we are going to E-town for this event. Sound good I'll bring down the Roc boyz to this event....
