Question So... whats the deal with "RotorFest 2008" (or w/e you're going to call it)

Just wondering if there are any updates? Has a location been picked? Date? Maybe even a name?

If there's any way I can contribute, let me know!

Wow!! I think everyone is thinking about it. Cause today at work I was thinking about Rotorfest 08.. SO whats the deal for 08 guys.. Going to rebuild my motor or get a new motor from Mazda... SO I need to know when, so that I could have my RX ready. I had fun last year and I'm looking forward for my second taste of Rotorfest..

Rotorfest 08, someone else said they were putting it on next year. There was a thread about it after the last one. They name should stay the same in my opinion. It was mainly the admission price shenanigans last year that left a bad taste in peoples mouths. I don't know why they can't still call it Rotorfest even if vosko isn't involved anymore. There are lots of rotorfests and he doesnt run all the other rotorfests.

Well hopefully it can still be at Island Dragway. I think its awesome racing with a bunch of other rotary cars. Its about the only time I get to do something like that.

I suggest judging sheets, 1st-3rd in each class and some specialty trophies like the "How did it make award". Then trophies for each generation (1-3gen 7's) in drag racing including seperate awards for 8's, RX2's/3's and such or even for swaps.

I suggest different people can get the trophies together. Like I can get the Drag Racing ones done while someone else gets the Show ones ready.

Then someone else can get the track scheduled and other stuff.

If its done right. I would not mind paying $30 dollars for me and a passenger to attend Rotorest 8.

I think I heard it was going to be held in NY. Search for "RotorFest" and you will find the thread that says where it may be held.

hey guys i know its been a while and that coupled with me being ghost has left the "Rotorfest" debate up in the air. I will be working with many of our club members / affiliates on next years events.

I have contacted mazdaspeed and they have showed interest but as of late have not contacted me, i will get more aggressive on this matter once i finish this semester so in january i will hit this HARDCORE.

We will have an event for the rotary community, we are still in talks about the layout of the event and how we can make it better at the same time.

John64 was at my house today and we were discussing some items, and mentioned this post to me so thats why i came on to see whats up and let ya konw i havent forgotten.

NEvertheless we can always have an event, but we would like to make this much better than RF was without any problems.

So mad rotary love to you all, will keep ya updated on the progress.

Jason NYC

organise an event if you like, but its jay and vosko arent involved find another name. rotorfest is thier creation.

im not taking ides on what happened last year, but right is right, dont try to steal thier event. if you feel you can put on your own event, great, but dont steal thiers, START your own.

Its a great time, a lot of nice rotary cars. I think we had somewhere
around 75 cars last year. Expecting more for this next year.
Check it out see what you think
