Yusoslo, you should drive the car once before I sell it - hell I'd say it's a 50/50 chance they'll show

If the dood shows with cash I will
If it's a certified bank check tomorrow
If it's just a check, the car (and title) goes nowhere till it clears
He called Monday, said he had the money, left messages Wed and yesterday with no reply
We'll see what happens i guess, but i won't be holdin my breath

As Dave said, private property gives you pretty much your own private doing *to a certain extent.
Word has it that lookout is actually hoping to rent out RIR sometime this year.
As for us renting a lot, that shouldn' be a killer problem. Considering 5 of my best friends ALL drive s13s with either ka or sr powa, other guys I know, and forum members, we shouldn't have too tough of a time gathering ppl up. I'd say for roughly $25-$50/person/day. Money will sure add up. I was also thinking if we have a solid lot, we could arrange a small autox.
So far the lots I have in mind aren't the greatest, but may get the job done.

blah we need to find more big lots!1

If you need sanctioning/insurance/cones/etc for something like that, gimme a call.

Good luck finding ANY lot for cheap these days,

Jon

OK so the guy shows up 15 minutes before I'm gonna leave Starbucks, didn't call me cuz he left his phone at his GF's and she went out of town
I put my number on his friends phone and he seemed pumped about getting the car today
They were talking to someone at the meet about a VCU party, my guess is there still sleepin it off
Well it's after 12 now and no call, no show, no nothin
Banks and the DMV are closed now

If one can't keep track of their own phone and misses out on a fabulous deal on a FD cuz they overslept, may not be FD owner material

So in my book all bets are off, whomever gets the money to me first gets the car

LOL, thanks Dave. ;-)

In my experience many site owners need to know that you're not just some yahoo looking for a place to play before they will even discuss price & availability. I have significant backing from NASA so sanctioning & insurance are easy to arrange. Therefore if you need help making an event legitimate, legal, and safe... I'm available... and I have 375 cones at my disposal. ;-)

I also have a hookup at RIR, but I won't step on VMSC's toes. Once their schedule comes out we will have a better idea of what's left.

Anyway - please keep me posted. 804-397-FAST or jon@get-fast.net are the best ways to reach me. Brian & Mike from US Drift have a similar arrangement and would be happy to help also I'm sure.

Thanks,

Jon

Thats great^^^

I really think the central virginia area need a bigger LEGITAMITE drift scene. No one wants to have to drive to Summit point and VIR just to drift at an expensive competition. I think most people would want to start at local, affordable events to hone their skills and then pay the big bucks and experience a real track.

I hope there are more people that feel the same way I do. I am willing to do whatever side work is needed to get the ball rolling.

RIR is a great location and if we can work around VMSC's scedule that would be great!

Have you talked to the (Richmond, Virginia-based) US Drift about this? I know they have been in contact with RIR and last I heard, they were waiting for VMSC's schedule release also. Email brian@usdrift.com ... and please find some usable sites! ;-)

I recently emailed Brian, and am awaiting a response. I wanna get the ball rollin on this!

Bj, check it out, and come along! My friend and I will be heading down there for one of the days to slide.

Hey Jon, what's your last name?

I spoke with Chris Cobetto many times over the weekend of the GT live event at VIR, as I was part of the volunteer staff at that event. I thought Chris was the Regional Director of NASA of the M.A. (?)

LOL, this is me:

http://www.get-fast.net/details.html

Cobetto is indeed the regional director and has been for many years... although I originally brought him in as the regional marketing director, back when I was the regional director in the late 90's.

And I was at GT Live, in charge of the rallycross plus I helped out on Patriot on Sunday and did a bunch of pre-runs Thurs/Fri. I'm the one who destroyed the gray 318i if you saw it that weekend ( http://www.get-fast.net/e30rxb ) lol. I'm guessing that we have met. ;-)

Small world,

Jon

Yep, probably Dave Stephens with the hatchcrap (NASA-MA autoX chief of timing & scoring) and Zach Mickle with the white '93 SE-R (NASA-MA autoX chief of tech.) We're just about everywhere these days, here's our season:

I don't think there is anyone here who hasn't met Jon, wether they know it or not is a different story.

I will most likely be at the Saturday Drift Fury event in a couple of weeks - I'm gonna drag my son along to that one.
And I'll be at the time attack the following week, hopefully I'll have the lights working on the FC by then so I can run.

Please do! You can leave mid-morning, be there noonish, run in the 3rd heat, and be back on the road by 3:30. No lights required. ;-) Schedule is in the "description" box on the pre-reg page:

https://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_e.../?event_id=436

PS- it was nice of Drift Fury to book their event 1 week before the US Drift event on the same track that was announced way earlier... ;-/

Hopefully the Drift Fury event will garner some awareness of VIR for folks and I'm sure some of can spread the word there's going to be a drift event the following weekend.
