Race/Autocross

I am looking for a good place to learn racing or autocrossing. I know that there are several places around the dc baltimore area that hold these events.

My question is where is the best place to learn and is geared towards the novices?

Thanks,
Wes

I think for us Baltimorons its likely Summit Point. They have "fridays at the track" events where you can have a solid half hour of time with an instructor in the passenger seat coaching you around the track. I think its like 200 bucks or something and all you need is good brakes and a helmet? I never went last year but am seriously considering it this year. Maybe need an SCCA membership?

I am planning on going in May or June maybe to check it out once before I try it. Sounds sweet though.

I have not been to summit point for their track days, but I know some people on here have. Try Bumping this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum-30/anyone-want-autox-weekend-912056/

Also, I do CDC AutoX that is pretty laid back and just for fun. A good group to try and refine your skills without dealing with everything that SCCA requires. Check them out http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/

In two weeks they are having their first event in Frederick, you should check it out.

Side note: What do you drive?

I'll have to check that out. Do we need to register?

I have a stock 82...nothing special, just looking to have some more fun in it.
