well to the sunlovers, i did offer sunblock lol. and on another note, i think the prize was rigged, did you guys catch the bullcrap prize for a NON ROTARY, the yellow kit car won, and no mention for the old schoold RX-3 and others. to me that was a total lack of respect to give the trophy to that yellow car and even doing a NON ROTARY mention when this was ROTORFEST2005. my 2 cents

damn, i wish i could have rode through the tunnel with you guys.

i wanted to stay and watch the 7's drag, but that sun was brutal. my girl got stung by a bee, and she's irish, so the sun was beating the **** out of her. i had to give her my white tee, lol.

the caravan there was definitely the highlight of the trip for me. it was nice meeting all of you guys, the guys i met anyway. we should have another meet and go cruising around!

edit: for those who had to go through the city, which way did you go?
the signs said the GWB had an hour long delay, so i took the lincoln tunnel....

also a big mistake haha.
i was a little worried on the trip home cause there was some traffic on 80 (i think it was 80) and my temp gauge was getting a little high (a little more than half)

The traffic was HORRENDOUS on 80 all the way to 95, probably into connecticut. When I got off at the throgsneck (THANK GOD) 95 was still a MESS. It took me 1.5 hours to get there, and 4.5 to get back! Cars were broken down and overheated all over the place, so that caused some of the problems, but it was whatever the accident was on 95 that caused the backup all the way to Jersey.

Oh BTW I actually pulled up behind everyone in the caravan, but when the cop came and told us we couldn't park, I was the first one to leave. I saw the sign for "island race track, .25 miles". I think "OK it's here. So we drive like one mile and can't find the damn thing and I see a red FD going back the other way. I turn around and then see the entire caravan going the same way I went and I was pointing to go the other way Then I found the entrance. They could have labeled this damn thing better! Good to know though we all found our way.

MY girl helped she saw a sign for Island Dragway...

That was about the most fun ive had in a long time....

Just to let you all know last night on the Long Island Expressway the gasket just infront of the cat let go and although it is verrrrrry noisy the power is back.

I will be emptying the cats tonight and installing some new gaskets.

It was great to see you all and to make some new friends, I really liked the black and red FB with the fake turbo under the front bumper.....

see you all on thursday night.

LOL yeah I saw that too. Look like the vehicle was just placed upside down, didn't even look bashed up, I'm sure everyone was OK inside. After that the real traffic started!

The car was a brown van of some sorts, the people looked okay. What time was this that you drove past there? I saw a white RX-7 in a mobile gas station, i think it was you. I was right behind them pumping gas in a white ford escape.

i have a feeling it was you...Going up 517

Hey why don't we set up a meet at a location so that we can all roll together deep and end up at Kohls on a Thursday night? 15 or so RX's arriving at the same time would look so hot! It would sound like a swarm of bees coming from far.

We could all meet up at my old high school, it's got like a 40 car parking lot.
It's like a mile from Kohl's on central, in Eastchester NY.

Thumbs up

RotaryRocket7...you did an outstanding job.
Dwayne... you missed it, I actually opened up my hood before I left Rotorfest

I might be at Yonkers Thursday night. I just have to jack-up the FD and change the brake pads after work. If I don't make it this week, I'll definitely be up there next week.
