well my car idles funny also but like max saying it surges alot. Stays below 1k but drops to about 500 a lot when sitting at light and such. There is a check engine light but it goes out when I press on the gas

sounds like a bad idle air control valve. check power to the valve and signal back to ecu. it might have crapped out on u.

 

Does your engine rev up to about 2000-2500 on startup when its cold? If not, then you have either a bad BACV or a bad transistor in the ECU that controls the BACV.

One way to test this is to take the BACV off the engine, turn it over so you can see the little plunger inside and turn the key to the ON Position and you should see the plunger open and the BACV should vibrate since the ECU runs the BACV around around 180hz or something like that.

yup it revs right up and stays there until it warms up. I know it looks like apiece of the cat was cut I think was part of the OBD II a little pipe coming out of the side of it I was thinking that had something to do with the check engine light

 

We don't have OBD2 or 1.

That little pipe is for the air pump.

 

Hey, is there anyone by manchester/hooksett/candia that is willing to sell those flash-to-pass lenses right below the headlights? Mine are busted at the brackets and it doesnt look like they will be put on anytime soon :P

 

It shouldn't stay at around 2000rpm. I should only rev up ther for about 3-5 seconds and then slowly drop to around 1500 and the thermowax takes over. What RPM does the engine reach when cold? 1500?

 

Sounds like a vacuum leak , stuck TB plate, or bad thermowax valve.

 

Hey guys no worries I figured out my electrical prob lol it was a damn fuse. but anyways no worries on the exhaust leak either cause I am getting a new cat and a 3" cat back. and I pickup up a set of 17X8 and 17X9 Rogamasters with a +45 offset and was wondering if anyone has any 1" spacers? and the front end I got is an RE Amemiya bumper with projector head lights.

 

Hey guys I heard about a cape cod run a few days back and I was wondering. I went to a 240 swap meet on saturday and got to talking to a few of them and told them about the cape cod run and they all liked the idea. So I shot it if they would be willing to try and set up a NE RX7/240 meet and do a cape cod run maybe next season? They all LOVED they idea. haha nope. Im not a big fan of the WW series, I actually never watch it but it was kinda exciting having them come in. Triple H is a awsome guy, real nice, Mr. can kill me with one punch.

Ya I don't like jaffery, keene or ringe. I lived in Jaffery when I was about 7 years old. Those towns don't seem to have much of anything good. The roads are horrible and ringe, well I never knew Sears would buy a shack and call it a store.

i need a TII tranny really really bad, mines about to **** the bed. also a new clutch, i dont know why i put a solid-hub disc in, hardly streetable and noisy.

 

you two huh? my os gilkin twinplate with unsprung hubs has raged hell on my turbo tranny as well
