NEW! 2008 MazdaFest (Replacement for Rotorfest)
I'll be there if it's going to happen, but it sounded like there was some faltering on Jays behalf re: people whining about the Venue. Whatever the hell its called it doesn't matter. Personally I think Jay should just take the Rotorfest moniker and slap it on his event to try and keep something going that was positive for many years, and had just one bad year.

the event is still on sorry for the inactivity. I want to beat down the guy on price, what he is asking is not what i want us to pay. So i will try to work something out with him. No promises, but i will def try. After this event we will re-evauluate this and see what we do for next year.
After im done with limerock i will really get cracking on the event. My last final is this wednesday so after that im free from the grip of college and can do what i need to do.

I believe the reunion is more of a come and hang out deal, no trophies, no djs, no girls in bikini's, no whiners.
just some old friends getting together to shoot the ****, lets not spin it into something else. When jay said no more rotorfest, he meant it along the lines of what it had grown into.
The more interest in the cars the better, I dont care if there are 42 events planned by 42 different people.

UPDATE.
So now that im done with finals, and Limerock i contacted the GEN MGR of Limerock and he put me to talk to the track manager. I had to re-explain to the track manager what me and genernal manager have discussed and arranged previously. The prices given to me are listed below

We worked out an agreement for tickets to be pre-sold at $20 per person for Sunday July 6, given that i could bring 100-150 cars to Englishtown. I also told them that we would be doing our OWN carshow seperate from the track, i didnt get any issues from the MGR.
I call back today to see how everything is going and they said that all the cars who want to park in our own reserved area have to be in the carshow in order to attend. This means we cannot do our OWN Carshow and would have to work with the track people to combine our car show with theirs. So i am a bit fustrated here and want to know how "YOU", the potential participant to see what you guys want to do.
I will begin looking at the alternate locations that i had in mind such as Bear Mtn or another park. Just wanted to give ya an update.

Hey guys I got good NEWS!
Just talked to the Event Coordinator for GIPEC (Govenors Island Preservation and Edcuation Corporation) on Governors Island in NYC (http://www.govisland.com/) .
She said we can do our event on GI.
I Have to work out the numbers since we have to take a ferry from NYC to the island. The ferry can only carry 30 vehicles per run before 10am, and 15 vehicles per run after that. So based on previous years rotorfest of 100+ cars i have to work out the logistics to transport so many cars onto the Island. If we do extra ferry runs in the morning or late afternoon that will be the additional cost we have to cover collectively.
Only issue is that we must bring the cars over to the island very early in the day! So let me know what u guys think. This is a great option, the island is XXXCLUSIVE and historic as well. We can BBQ here without any issues etc.

From the Island you can get an Unobstructed view of the Statue Of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Verazano Narrows Bridge, Jersey City etc

^^ lol hahah. To be honest getting to this location in manhattan requires very little driving in the "City". Very close to Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge.

In regards to pricing as questioned by a member on the rx8club.
Lets say we have 100 cars confirmed to come, based on the 4-7 ferry runs each person will only have to pay $10. Its not that expensive, plus its 172 acres and we will be on the south island where the PUBLIC is not allowed. I get this perk because i work for the Construction Company (Turner) and i work very well with the Owner (GIPEC). So this is a good opportunity for us.
We need to get 100 cars MINIMUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i wish i could but for one its a bit far for my health to go round trip in a day and i may have a commitment to a magazine photoshoot with my car for that day as well.....
