Dude... Bring your title/reg to the dealership and get a key cut for $5.

This is the simplest way of doing it with off the shelf components for people who don't have all the parts, time, and/or knowledge to set up a custom set of battery cables...

Already tried that option.....

Unlike in Corey's case, Nissan decided to be gay and only go back 10 years for their list of key codes for cars...

I've called 6 dealerships already, 5 said "no way in hell", the last said "yes, we can" but when I arrived the service guy told me whoever I talked to must have lied, because it's impossible....

My original question still stands....

Is the door unlocked, or can you get it unlocked with a hanger? We pull a cylinder that has a keycode on it and bring it in... They cut keys from the keycode and all is good.

At least one cylinder should have the keycode on it... Unless they folowed the forum advice:

Don't stamp it.

Then you're just slightly fucked.

Oh, and new pics up from my van engine swap.

The stock VW engine that's going to be swapped into the van(+turbo):

The Chevy engine that came out of the van:

The time intense process of dragging the engine up the slight incline to the garage:

That's all I have for now. (some of the pictures are reposts, just better organized)

Dude. I wanna come see.

Yeah, I broke into it like a week or two ago... And the dealership DID say the passenger side should have the code on it....

Only thing is, I don't know how to take out one of those lock cylinders...

It's not like you live with a mechanic, or mechanically inclined individual, or an engeneer, or anything. :-p

Bah, all of you do too much running around and working on other projects usually... Hence why I don't bother asking for help anymore...

You need a hammer, or failing that, a large rock...

You also need a screwdriver or chisel... Failing that, a smaller and flatter rock. Make one from a larger rock with your other large rock if need be.

That should get the lock cylinder out.

Seriously. Remove the door panel. The cylinder is held in by a small "U" shaped spring clip... It's attached to the mechanism with small plastic clips. Remove the plastic clip and the spring clip and you're golden.

You don't even need to get it out... You could just look up in there with a broken off CD and a flashlight. Alls you need is the code.

Took out the passenger lock and there was no code to be found....

Ahh well, at least I can take it to a locksmith and probably get a cheaper price to get new keys now

That might also be why your key never worked in that lock... Check the driver's side and the hatch lock.

lol, I totally forgot about that... Thanks for the head's up...

But when Jason and I took a look at it, it was gunked up pretty badly... I think the reason my key never worked in it was due to it being so damn dirty...

Coulda still been replaced...

I just realized, I never knew your key didn't work in the passenger's side...

It's my lawyer's Benz E300 that had it's cylinder replaced... And it's the DRIVER's side that doesn't work with the stock key...

I work on too many freaking cars. I need a database or something.

I'm getting a new wiring harness in sometime this week, so I'll be good to go for lights etc. Now to straighten the dash out and put it back together.
Then the engine...
Looks like I'll need a new starter. dunno about clutch yet. I'll prolly buy mike's turbo. then oil and **** needs to be run for the turbo -.-!!! so much hassle.
At least the megasquirt will be operating fine.
oh... and if anyone has a stock intercooler that I could have lemme know. i'm thinking about sticking one up the left side air intake and I think the stock rx7 unit would fit perfectly.
