yeah its at Fox chevy now. Not sure what happend. I would have thought the thermostat stuck shut but the temp guage was at 210. My guess is a cracked hose somewhere is depressurizing the system and making it spit out the overflow.

 

Don't the Oldsmobile Auroras have the 8 quart oil sump that's similar to the Caddy Northstars? I heard those can run for a long time with no coolant. They shut down cylinders at various intervals to pump air and cool it, as well as save gas.

 

yes they do. It can and did run from Henry Gay suzuki to fox chevy with little to no coolant left in it at about 210-215. And some times on a regular day in traffic with the ac on I cans ee temps of 250 easy. This car runs hotter than anything I have ever seen before. I have hit 260+ a few times in it running around stopping places and shutting the car off and the temp sky rockets because the efans don't stay on when the car shuts off. Olds can show the rotary a few things about coolant seals

 

Hrm, water temps, correct? Are you using a turbo timer at all? It might help with that running around/shutting the car off. And definatly wire up your e-fan to constant 12v. That, combined with a turbo timer and my car cools off very well after hard runs.

 

That Northstar engine is a wonder in itself. Several processors and miles of wiring to accomplish what it does.

I think GM tried it in the 80's and failed miserably. I'd dig the Northstar V8 if it wasn't so... Transverse. I hate FWD.
