that's a shame. that sortof cuts out a few people i know who are interested in coming out...because many of us get up at 5 am during the week, and can't justify rolling down to Rockville from Baltimore(or PA in some cases) when we have to get up at the asscrack of dawn. if you'd make it on a friday or saturday night, i think you'd have a better showing.

but then again, that depends on how accessible you guys want to be.

*EDIT* forgot to mention, YES these are RX7 people.

Well, that's just me. There is no reason you guy's cant start a group that meets on a different set of days.

I just happen to be free on tuesdays and thursdays, thus thats when the club meets.

Sometimes we will meet up on friday for laser tag in Sterling, VA. ;D

well...problem is these people want to meet you guys, but CAN'T because of the retarded timing.

sorry, but that's just the general consensus 'round here on that.

and Sterling?? that's even farther. these folks don't necessarily want to join a club...they just want to come and hang out, and meet other fellow rotorheads...but if y'all don't want to meet them, i guess that's your loss, eh?

Guess who

If you really want to organize a get together on a friday or saturday, just let the other group members know. Most of them are usually free. granted you wont get EVERYONE, but you should be able to get a good number.

Me personally, im usually free every night except sunday and monday.

and if anyone asks to see my RX-7...i'll beat ya..and NOT in the enjoyable way :-p

I want to do that. Sat is better for me. it is kind of long commute during the rush hour to jon's house on Tues and Thurs for me. hence, I miss all the fun...

lol, yeah.... it's not like we aren't willing to meet you guys.... it's just that most of us have a schedule that rotates best around Tuesday and Thursday evenings due to our own jobs, businesses, plots to take over the world, etc..... if you can't make it to our regular meets, then throw up your own meets..... most likely a couple if not all of us would try and make it there so long as distance and time allows such....

You make it seem like we're some sort of elitist snobs or something, falnfenix... I really hope that's not the way you meant to come off..... We've stuck to this schedule because it works for everyone so far and no one's had any huge problems with it, not because we're trying to "keep folks out of our little circle".....

EDIT: (lol, guess I jumped in a little too late.... ahh well... )

not meaning to seem elitest...i just hear a lot of frustration. it's great that the time works for you guys...but who am i to be some noob(to this forum) and try to get a gathering together? i know better than that...in past experience with varying car groups, people rarely do what the noob tries to set up, for whatever reason.

just trying to pick y'all's brains and see just what the reason was for picking those days.. didn't mean to step on any toes.

lol, hell..... I threw together a good chunck of all the drift event meets this year for this area, and my name was unknown up to that point..... I was a noob then, but I didn't give a damn.... just go for it.... nothing gets started till somebody actually steps up to the plate...

And screw the people that don't come because you're new, just shows that the character of those who miss out are those of which you don't really need to be associated with in the first place

lol...point...i think my other half might be trying to do something on a saturday...he's not mentioned any details yet, but i know he'd like to try and get a group together. i'd love to join - though i don't own a 7(he's trying to talk me into it...) i certainly appreciate anyone's hard work in a beautiful machine. so yeah...don't ostracize the corolla driver if you guys DO end up coming to his thingo :P

If you'd like one, I know of a GXL that's in good condition but just needs a rebuild or a new engine for under $500..... and I know of someone else who has a spare engine since he's gotten rid of his 7 (hint hint NeptuneRX)..... just let me know.....

If your signifigant other gives a date, just post like a week in advance before the date for best coverage..... *sighs* Hopefully i'll have my poor TII back in my hands for sliding fun by then.... ~_~

And i'd never hate on a Corolla driver.... I still dream of the day I can find a nice 86 or 85 GT-S Hatch....

lol...right now my hands are full with my OTHER underdog, a 91 5spd cavalier z24. piece of crap? damned right...but a s/c 3.4L chevy motor will fit...and i'm thinking of doing that swap once i kill the current 3.1L.

i don't have any storage space, either...i was hard-pressed to find space to stick the Z24 for awhile.

i'll bug YF19 - although i know he'll read this sometime today or tomorrow - to settle on a date.

lol

like that intimidates me? i was going to put a 2ZZ-GE(from a newer celica gt-s) and its matching 6-speed trans into my 2001 corolla. lots of custom fab on the engine compartment, some custom made engine parts(or homemade as the case may be..), etc. the idea of a massive fab job doesn't frighten me in the least.
