6-speed

I know the rx-8 has a 6 speed option. Now, can I (In any way) fit this to my seond gen?
Mounts in a different area?
Motor to tranny totally different?

I must know! I shall now search the threads and waste away my life......

sounds to me like it's stripped ... it should just spin right off, I'm sure jason has some S4 shifter bottoms he can sell you.

I know how to put a 6 speed in there, but you'll have to bolt a piston engine in with it

I belive it is the same as the Miata 6-speed. I also belive that it has a different bolt pattern and tail-block, so fitting it will be interesting

HKS makes a six speed dogmission, no overdrive though :p

every shifter I've taken off you just have to spin it off... I don't think there is a locknut.

That would be for 31mph side impact test (though there is little surprise there...I think we all fear the T-bone impact). Frontal crash test are rated high though.
