Though if you're having some issues that other mechanics can't figure out, gimme a PM and I'll see if I can help you out.

I'm in Silver Spring, MD.
I'll say.

I need a rotary mechanic somewhere in Washington, preferably in the lakewood area, or as far as Seattle. Much appreciated.

He doesn’t post here, so I am posting this for him:

Shop's address is:
VIP Tuning & Auto Service
1524 F Spring Hill Road
McLean, VA 22102
703 883 0403

He can do any basic maintenance for all generation RX-7 and RX-8. He can also tune for AFR with wideband.

He has tunning software for AEM and Power-FC.

He also has a fender-rolling tool locally.
Ditto re: deeepdezal's sentiments, I posted him at his old shop z-auto in laurel, md . Dante at z-auto does alright with some work on 3rd gens, he owns a 2nd gen.

I waited a few years and 20,000 miles for this recommendation.

I'll personally recommend Gibby Dobson for turbo rebuilding. I interviewed Gibby 7 years ago to clean and map my fuel injectors for my rx-7, well he didn't have the adapters for my odd foreign gasoline car as he services the diesel industry. He cleaned them but wasn't able to map, I don't think he charged me. He took me on a tour of his shop, he specializes in diesel pumps, injectors and turbos, it was impressive, I knew I had a good guy.

3 years later, I had him rebuild my twin turbos. 4 years and 20,000 miles ago and still good boost. They came back cleaned and painted, very professional and priced competitively.

I think they require that you pull the part off your vehicle and they do ship nationally.

Anything Rotary from stock rebuilds to porting to installing a custom welded roll cage in your car. The guy's name is Peter Koch and he has been trained at Mazda Full Circle Service. He is currently doing a Full Bridgeported motor for a REPU as well as some mild porting and rebuild of another engine. He also fabricates rotary adapters for any engine stand. Only uses the best of the best products.

FOR ALL YOU UPSTATE NY RX7 OWNERS:

After making quite a few phone calls to shops in the Capital District in the Fall when I needed to get my 7 on a lift to change the drivetrain, I found a fairly new shop that was actually willing to work on a rotary. They are fairly familiar with RX7's from having a couple lifelong 7-enthusiast friends who aren't with us anymore (they both drove 2nd gens) and definitely got very excited when I brought mine in. So if you need any work done and want to give them a shot, call and mention I sent you. My experience there was definitely worthwhile.

Hey guys, i didn't see this thread mentioned at all

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ngine+builders

it's in the general tech support section, tons and tons and tons of builders across the country... lots of ones that were not mentioned in NE and the east coast...

hope this helps!

also, I've been talking with Chris Rogers for a while now... He's very Knowledgeable, friendly, and generally knows his stuff... He has an FD now.. used to own a blown FB.. YAY

Have a good one

If anyone is in DE I recommend

http://cabaynes.com/

I bought a car from Charlie and Dan recently. I should be able to pick up the car within the month. Before I purchased though, they drove the car all the way to NJ to get it compression tested by Ihor.

The engine is a rebuilt JDM that they did themselves. They told me that when they got the engine, it was in really bad shape. They worked hard to clean and rebuild the engine and it shows.

The compression test results were very impressive. I believe the front ranged from 120 - 122 and the read from 119 - 121, I forgot the exact numbers. I think everyone was quite impressed. These guys really love their 7s and it shows.

Thanks for the car fellas!
