I am looking for a good shop/ mechanic to do some work on my '84 first gen RX7. I am in western Massachusetts. Looking at the lists I saw there was a guy in Somers CT several years ago (about as close to me as you can get) and there was another guy near Worcester, but they seem to have disappeared. Any recommendations welcome!

Did you guys in PGH south hills find anyone? Just curious - although I live in Mass I am originally from Bethel Park, and the dealer on West Liberty took care of my RX until I moved 12 years ago.

Be sure and check out Synaptic 3 Performance located 1 hr north of Boston.
I have been out of the game for 5years and refuse to let my projects sit any longer. I am looking for a mechanic that can get my 2FD's running while I work on the third at my pace. I am looking for a serious mechanic. The mechanics list here in the thread was started in 2002...kontakt created a spreadsheet but some of the shops on the list no longer exist. Can someone recommend a serious FD, rotorhead mechanic and shop that has rotors for white blood cells..lol

Has anyone had any recent work done by Marcos Acosta lately?(owner of Acosta motorsports) He no longer has his own shop but I've heard he's been working at different shops in northern nj

I've not done rotaries before but am an auto tech. if people have simple things they'd like done I could get them done and maybe get some quick lessons on the rx's. i'm located in NW NJ near the PA border

I've done a bunch of LS swaps and work on LS motors. I have a 1974 Chevy C10 in the shop right now with an LS swap that I just did a cam, pushrods, valvesprings, and headers on. Doing a custom side exit exhaust now. Hit me up.

update for MD shops:
Alpine auto in Glen burnie still does some work... they pressed rotor bearings for me about 2 years ago or so, i.e. they still have the mechanics AND TOOLS to do the work, there just isnt the demand anymore so they dont advertise it.
Idek if unique precision or precise out in western MD is a thing anymore... i didnt (personally) hear good things about them anyway
Speed 1 in PA is closing up, or closed
angel motorsport is great, but give or take 2.5-6 hours away depending where in MD you are
Miller speed an performance - mostly nissan and toyota, they're drifters and know their stuff. idk if they'd work on a rotary, but i dont see why not? they took over the import shop there that used to work on rotaries so i'd like to think they may have acquired some rotary tools when they bought the spot

idt any mazda shop will touch a rotary anymore, if they do it would probably be $$$ lol
i havent talked to John Kearney in about 2 years, im not sure of his current status. last i was there he was selling his racecar Rx3 and planning on selling 1 or 2 of his FC racecars. he still have a LOT of parts though, awesome shop. i believe he's still in business and is a wealth of knowledge. right outside (or inside?) of the east side of 495 around DC. - Kearney racing // kearney automotive
uhhhh i have a good bit of tools laying around still and have (with help) built 2 engines now and torn down 5 or 6 +. i have a rotary engine stand adapter, the 36mm (iirc?) socket for the flywheel, etc... no i wont take your 7 and work for you but i'll provide help and walk throughs with you to do it and can lend tools to assist. sorry but i have plenty on my own plate to keep me busy. sadly it's not looking good for us MD rotary guys going forward (YES I CAN SAY THAT RIGHT NOW BC ALTHOUGH SELLING I HAVE '93 R1 w/13bREW : P )
hope this bump can help someone... 4 years since the last lol

Thank you for the post Sh00bs. I spent some time abroad and returned to my FC unable to start with a full tank of what I am sure is stale gas.
You are right about Mazda shops. I sent the FC to the local Mazda dealer to have the stale gas drained, and have them do a once over. The car was there for 2 months before they even looked at it. They had no clue on how to work on the car and recommended changing the fuel pump. They changed it and still could not get it to start. I told them that I will pick up the car. If they drained the stale fuel, I can surely get it started.
Sad to see so many Shops cease to work on the Rotary. I will miss Kearney's; that is/was good shop.
