Keep Jim@JPR in mind as well. Excellent work on Rx7s, and Rx8s. Has some of the fastest and well put together cars in the NE. All 3 are good.

i'm from nj and been to both KDR and IRP. KDR, now Speed1 is in PA and three times a longer drive, but I prefer to go to them. They helped me out with my twin turbo problem in one day and also did some installs and tune in another one day session. They both are pretty full with their schedule....IRP is actually a few guys working out of a garage that have other full time jobs. IRP did my suspension which should be easier than turbos and tuning yet took a lot longer. Im not knocking Ivan, he does some good work but I believe Kevin at Speed1 is more knowledgeable/faster and therefore less expensive when charging by the hour. The main keys are Speed1 have a dynometer if you want to tune it, and IRP has a compression test machince that will see if you're seals are still good.

Went to KDR once years ago. Dave I think was the guy I met but he did a great job on my car for a reasonable price. The drive though was very far. Came from DE. I hope to be done my car in the next 12 months or so and was thinking I would use him to tune it.

Ive been going to KDR (refuse to call it speed1) since 2007. KDR was bought over by (forgot his name) and now "speed 1" Dave is the head mechanic and is the most knowledgable guy i know. ive have wiring problems and went to talk to him and he was calling out the WIRE COLORS off the top of his head for me to diagnose. it blew my mind cuz i knew he was right (i was studying those specific wires hours before seeing him) His trouble shooting skills are top notch, ive never seen or heard a problem he couldnt solved. one of the few people left who "love their job because every day brings a new problem i havent figured out and i love figuring it out" hes passionate about rotarys. one of the few mechanics that would work for free and drop all the buisness side of the shop if he could. truely amazing and prices are more than fair. one of the few mechanics that IIII offered to PAY when he said dont worry about it. hes 2 hours from me and i still go to him..... only thing is hes not the easiest to get in contact with (usually replys to emails within the next day) but what can you do when hes super busy getting cars from all over the NE
Jim @ JPR Imports is also a great guy. his track car is a BEAST super cool. super helpful. he installed my turbo on the 8 back in 07 and was really the only work hes ever done for me but anytime i call hes ALWAYS willing to help out.
I never went to IRP but i know rich and ihor. IMO they build one of the best engines you can get but they are a bit price imo.
cant go wrong with any of the 3 but Dave is/has/and always will be my #1 pick although i do mostly all my own work now...

I do most of my own work, except for tuning but Ive never rebuilt a rotary. Im sure I could do it and I heard it really isn't that bad but I just wanna see what they would charge. And also I think I would rather have it professionally ported than do that myself

And when I said "suspension work" I should have clarified it was swapping coilovers and adjusting ride height. which took IRP 7 hours but charged for 8 because he had a friend help?
