Just moved in NOVA

I've actually been in Northern VA since 2005, but recently settled down in the Sterling area. Ever since I moved up here, I've seen a few Rx7s and been to the Dulles meet but haven't really met any FC or FB owners or hung out, etc. Any good FC meets? My FC is down for now (as it has been since I moved up here) and I'm having withdrawal, lol. I cant wait to get started back on the project and hanging out with some new local guys/gals.

Here's a pic of the new garage (pardon the mess, still getting organized) I finally have SPACE.. 2.5 car garage means I get room for the cars AND tools, even if the 2nd bay is gonna be for the DD. Any RX guys are welcome to hang out!

Welcome fellow rotorhead!

Being that you've been in NoVa for the past 2 years, I don't think I need to warn you about the traffic; you prob. got a taste of it on the day you moved in

Where in Sterling you at? The NoVa guys are scattered all throughout the area, but there's def a lot of them. Unfortunately, no one's really active in this area in terms of meets etc, other than the Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington (http://mscw.com/) which meets monthly. A few RX-7s show up, and a lot of RX-8s and Proteges.

The RX7 crowd/meets used to be big up here until everyone's cars either broke or were totaled. This was the usual crowd every single Friday and Saturday.

Welcome to the area, mscc is a great club. Also capitaldrivingclub (.com) is a good club for autox and track days. WV is great for Summit Point and awesome roads. I'm moving soon so I can't chill when its nice out but theres def. no shortage of RX7s in this area.

Have fun Get a nice slow daily drive cause damn, the law enforcement here is crazy.

You're about right...one year would be a bit over-optimistic. And sorry, my lips are sealed

I've met the black FB before at Dulles. It's got the 13BT swap right?

the 1POINT3 car looks familiar too, but not really sure. I had a turbo protege when I moved up here (ES - I had to put my OWN turbo on since the MS wasn't out yet in '03 when I got mine).

I have also run at capitaldrivingclub events with my buddy's Rx8 and miata.

Maybe I'll actually get more time to come by and hang out, lol. The gray S5 FC, did you have a guy in a jeep harass you one night after the dulles meet?

I'm not sure if it was the same guy but we did have a drunk white guy come up to us and ask if this was a "ricer meet" lol. He got in my face when I laughed at him because he thought our cars were Ford Probes and it didn't go much farther than that.

Yo. I think I've seen you around. You come around Dale Blvd. often?

I know there's a house with a couple FC's off of Cordell or Cloverdale or something... And I've seen a red FC turn on Birchdale.

Welcome, I'd say your best bet is just to go to the Dulles meets once the weather gets nice again, unfortunately trying to get all the NoVA people together in one place at one time is pretty much impossible. Last summer we could regularly get 5 or 6 RX-7s up there each Friday, which isn't bad at all.

Welcome and good luck with your project. I've been to a few of the Dulles meets and one or two of the BK meets. Hopefully, I'll get out to more meets and track events this year.

Well, welcome! I work in Sterling and usually attend the Chick-Fil-A Meets when the weather is nice.

Didn't make it out much this year at all, but come spring time i should be.

My FB's are not on the road at the moment, but I'm not far from Dale either.

I know weather plays a big part of getting a group together. Any of you here about the RX8 poker run that tried to get going in Leesburg this past year? It was open to other rotary cars, but I don't know if it was ever a success or not. Sounds like a good idea though...
