HPDE Open Track Day at Monticello Motor Club with TRACKACARDIA!!
Jon (Beefhole)- I only have out of car footage from run 1 and 2, and in car from 3 and 4. My girlfriend and/or friend got footage from outside of the car and I think I saw you on a video or two. I'll let you know when I post them up.
It was great to meet everyone. We had a cool little RX-7 corral in the lot. Really awesome to see.
Dan- it was awesome playing cat and mouse with you out there. You have a really fast car (and the cat was fun to watch corner after corner). Luckily the ish hit the fan / my windshield towards the end of the last session. I have some good footage of us out there and my girlfriend took some great shots of our cars on track together. I'll let you know when I have them up. Please PM me your number and I'll give you a call to get more information on the feature if you are still interested. Get that vinyl printed up and I'll throw one on the FD and the daily driver. I'll have to pass the compliment onto Tom for keeping me entertained out on track watching his work of art flying around the track.
Rich and Jon- thanks again for all of the help in the parking lot. I know it was the last thing you guys wanted to do at the end of an already long day. I was able to get it back to the garage. It ran well, boosted well, and the vacuum looked good the whole ride home. I am going to get a compression check done and go from there. If all looks good, I am registering for another event (possibly Trackacardia on Monticello in August or Mont Tremblant with COM in August) and tying up some loose ends on my cooling set up. Obviously not an ideal set up. The exterior is clean of all the coolant; I need to tackle the engine bay next weekend.
I stand by my previous statement: whatever happens to my car happens. I bought and built (on a college student budget) this car to do exactly what I did Saturday. If it breaks, so be it; unfortunately it's inevitable with what we do. I'll just have to iron out the kinks and build it better. Naiive perspective, maybe but the fun on the track is what I do this for. A truck and trailer next time will be a definite.
Everyone- Take a look at AWOL Media at some point this week to take a look for shots. I apologize for the plug, but my friends ran around like crazy getting shots from the event and from what I have seen they got some great ones.

^Great, I'm looking forward to seeing the videos. You are saying there is another event here in August? I'll try again to get my friends to go. I'll come back with better brakes and tires.
AWOL got some great shots. I'll be checking frequently to see when they get the website up.

There should be another Trackacardia event soon at Monticello. I have some insider information from my photographer friends, but I will wait until Jon makes it official. It was definitely a lot of fun. Next time, no breakin down by kitty litter for me.
That's good to hear, if I'm not doing a track day already on that date I'm in.
my friends posted the shots they took from the event:

I am still working on my videos. I am waiting on some software to edit quicktime movies on a Mac. It's somewhere in our apartment, I just need to install it.

Are you considering a full suspension setup or just springs?

I had a blast in the few sessions that we decided to hit the track together. PM sent!
