HPDE Open Track Day at Monticello Motor Club with TRACKACARDIA!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVx9ngXSnJA"]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVx9ngXSnJA[/URL]

Hey Guys, how are ya!
I want you to be the first to know about the High Performance Driver Education Event that I am having at the beautiful new 3.5 mile track at the Monticello Motor club, on April 24. For those of you that have driving your RX7 around a world class road course I dont have to tell you the thrill it is. I will tell you that this is the nicest track in the Northeast, and this will be the best price you will find at this track. So check out TRACKACARDIA.COM

And for those of you who haven tried it yet, what are you waiting for?! This is what our cars were built for!!
Getting my car on a real track and enjoying it at 100%, made all the effort that I have put into my car over the years finally make sense.
This experience is sensory overload!
Also it proved what mods I did right, and what I needed to make my 7 perfect (brake pads lol)
Any questions, hit me up.
All cars are welcome, but I really hope to see some Sevens there!!
Jon
PS: I caught the Z06 and passed him on the back straight

The website went up today!

Well it took a coupla extra days to get the website worked out. It is all up and ready now.
Thats my FD in the logo
I got two Rx7's signed up today and would really like to do a RX7Club/friends run-group.
Check out the site to see the new Promo Im running, you cant beat this deal!
You will get the whole day at the track and almost 2 hrs of track time! Also, the track is 4.1 miles not the 3.5 miles that I mentioned, see below..

http://www.luxist.com/tag/monticello+motor+club/

When you sign up put "RX7club" in the "comments" box it may come in handy if we get to do the RX7club run group!

I'd love to go and take my first Gen and rx8 around the track. What would I need to do to my car. And what would I need to buy for my self to take a spin.

For the car you need to ensure everything is in working order and all of the fluids are fresh. Make sure there is nothing leaking, hanging off, etc... You will need a set of race pads, high temp brake fluid, a helmet if they are not available for rent, an array of tools, zip ties, air pressure gauge, fluids, and several things I'm sure I haven't listed.

That sounds awesome Jon. I'll have to see if I can get my car track ready for the season or on it's way to being track ready by March 15th. Mark me down for a strong maybe.

Is this track near where Rally New York and International Rally New York are headquartered? I am trying to get a feel for the distance. I know if it is in the area, lodging won't be a problem; but I will never stay at the Nevele Grand Resort again.

Went there last year with NASA, you will not find a nicer track.
Is this similar to a HPDE event? In car instructors?different groups that run 4 or so times for about 15 minutes each? That price is very good. Let me know how it will go and I will sign up. You should bring something to keep all your crap in or cover it since the car has to be empty. Also I have a 12 v compressor which comes in handy when trying to get tire pressure good. Torque those lug nuts...

Here is a shot from last September.

Update for me: I am going to register as soon as I can and just take it as setting a deadline for getting my car in order. Im gonna have to get a check list going on what needs to be done. Pretty exciting stuff. Great graduation/new job present to myself and car.

Do you need a deposit or full amount by March 15th or either?

Yep, Rally New York and International Rally are down the road. There's lots of lodging options for any budget if you want to wake up close to the track (I recommend it). There is a Best Western at exit 104 off Rt 17,.. it's nice. Ill list some on the website before the event.

*Yes, it is a High Performance Driver Education event /open track day. Drivers will be divided into 4 groups by their previous track experience. The schedule I have will allow 4 track sessions for each group, each session being 25 mins. I wont have an instructor in every car. I will have a Chief Instructor offering instruction in a class type setting.
*Novices will get the most attention, with close to an hour of pre-game from the Chief Instructor before they get out on the track. The first on-track session for the novices will be "lead follow". Then they will have a break, then some more class time to develop what they learned. The novices will then be back on the track picking up the pace. I will have some other instructors on hand for some in-car work, but definitely not enough for each driver, every session. I am working on getting as many as I can. I expect that everyone who wants some one-on-one, will get an instructor, at least at some point.
*As for drivers with some track experience, they also will be offered class instruction between some sessions. Then lots of track time to practice their skills on the best track in the Northeast!
Thank you, yes the price is unmatchable. That is my business plan. lol

Does anyone know how many cars will be allowed in the top group? Is there an instructor group separate from the top solo group? Events like these sound good on paper until you find out there are 35 - 45 cars in each session. Please advise.

Good point, other groups sometimes run 35-45 cars at tracks half this size.
This track is BIG, 4.1 miles compared to say Lime Rock at just 1.5 miles, or NJ Thunderbolt Raceway at only 2.2 miles.
Monticello Motor Club says I could do 40-50 because this track is so big, but I won't.
I want you to get out there and enjoy the hell out of this event!
For this Trackacardia event each run group will be limited to just 26 cars!
Dont miss this one, sign up at Trackacardia.com

*Update, I will now have professional in-car-instructors available for all drivers at no extra charge.
This was my intention form the beginning, but I was waiting on some of the instructors to confirm the date. It is all set.
Lets get some more Sevens on the track
You will be getting more than your monies worth for this event.

I want to sign up for the event but my car is currently torn apart to get it ready for this season. When is the tech inspection? Is it the day of the race or a few weeks prior? I had to cancel on an event already in early April because I wasn't going to be able to be teched in time for the event (no later than 2 weeks prior to the event)

Tech inspection is just going to be a a safety inspection at the event, before you go on the track, and maybe a pre-game check list for you to sign.

A list of drivers is a cool idea, but people dont sign up with their RX7club names.
I could figure it out Im sure, ill get to it when I hit a lull
Here is a very partial list of paid drivers.
There are more unpaid RX7s that say "Im going!"
Tell your friends, and make some $..
Here is what the group looks like so far..

There are five FD's
"beefhole" from here, in a Civic si
also we got..
Ferrari F-430
Ford GT
Audi R8
three Porsche GT3
Z06
five M3s
Audi S4
Audi A3
three VW GLI
"Cobra"
Mazda Speed 3
SVT Mustang Cobra
two Civic si
BMW
Vette

I guess since tech is the morning of the event I can run my WRX instead of the Rx7 if I don't get it back together in time.... I will pass the info on to a friend to see if he wants to go too!
