WV HELP Car broke on way home DGRR

Hey Guys,

On my way back to Canada, Car broke down while driving. Had to get it towed to a Hampton Inn Parking lot, in Beckley, West Virginia. I was just driving down the highway, heard a load pop similar to a backfire, the car stalled; couldn't get it started again. After some troubleshooting on the side of the road, found that the car cranks over, and has full power. Leads me to think it's fuel issue. I found a blown EGI fuse, but I don't have any more fuses. I don't think the fuse will fix the issue, something is causing it to blow. Any one have any ideas? or is there anyone in West Virginia that can drop by and help me out.

If I don't make any progress by tomorrow around lunch, I'm going to see about towing it or renting a trailer to get it home.

Thanks
Andrew (Silver 93 Rx7), New Engine(4 weeks old), all stock but has an exhaust

If the EGI fuse is blown look for bare battery or power wires rubbing on pulleys, or melted on the exhaust. Sounds like whoever put the engine back in the car may not have payed much attention while routing the battery cables around the engine bay.

I accidentally did this once many years ago so don't feel bad

glad that you got it started to drive it home. i couldnt even begin to fathom how much that towing bill would have been to get it home.
