Well mine was pretty evident when I had the key on, mmm check the wiring to the boost solenoid and also perform a test on it by hooking up the vacuum hose and blowing through the solenoid you should hear clicking as well.

I checked the wiring and it seems fine. I blew through the COM side with the power off and it came out the NC side like ti should. With power on however it still came out the NC side. Which could explain why i am having a hard time keeping boost up. I can hear the wastegate opening early anyways b/c it's loud as hell. From what I understand though the Apexi one only clicks once on startup and then you wont hear it again.

So I benched tested the solenoid and heard some clicking so i assumed it was good. Then I looked at my AVCR to see if I could possibly fix the boost and to see if that was the issue. I saw that learn gear was on so I turned it off and added 5% to the duty from 3k to 5k and now it boosts like a champ but there seems to be a bit of knock so im not sure what that's about. I dont really trust the knock sensors to much since ive heard they tend to go off b/c off b/c of dump tubes and wastegate openings and things like that...but glad it works

VA Oil Leak

Have developed an oil leak from the engine of my FD and need to know if there is a shop in the area that can be relied on to do quality work. I do most of my own work but do not have a lift and have not been successful in locating the source of the leak. Any help would be appreciated.

ThatThat leak in most likely your oil pan, you might as well get your engine mounts upgraded if you do this job.

Yea if it's an oil pan leak that's an easy fix and any shop should be able to replace the gasket for figure out exactly what's leaking. As far as fixing anything else that it could be then you may want to look into PFS up north of you. If you need help lemme know man.

Its not the oil pan, I alredy fixed that one. It is coming down the plug side of the engine. I looked at the oil pressure sending unit and put sealant on the treads so I don't think it is coming from there or the filter but I can not locate the source.

Do you still have the plastic oil filler tube? Maybe cracked as another possibility.

i think your oil gallies o ring seals are gone. common seal to fail as that what has done my fb in.

car still runs just i have to refill the oil every week . didnt want to keep doing that so i just parked the car till i can deal with it.

here is a pick of my FC's engine i rebuilt a while back i circle the seal in question.

If it says Apexi and came from ebay it's probably a china knock off and not the real thing. 99% of of the stuff on ebay marked Apexi is fake except for the PowerFC's.

Wastegate is quite a few years old...definitely not a knock off. Came with the RX6 kit anyways. But I don't think it's a wastegate problem anymore.

You still have your boost issue? I have a few mechanical boost controllers that we can put on and do process of elimination. If it isn't the boost controller then is the wastegate.

It's actually not that simple, it could be a bad gasket in the areas of the turbo, uim, lim, turbo to Manifold or the silicone hoses/couplers might have a small tear. It's a pain in the ***

No leak=mechanical. It has to be the wastegate or the boost controller.

I can tell you how I fixed it in a way. On my EBC, I have the AVCR, I turned learn gear to off and the boost does fine. Then I turned in on to see if it would stay but it doesn't and I can't hit target boost. I think my BOV is also a bit leaky too b/c of the noise increase under boost. Id need a new BOV to test that though

Do you a plain Greddy elbow? I have a Greddy Elbow with a Greddy BOV that I really don't like and I want to trade the elbow w/BOV for one without it.

Hey guys. Haven't been on here in a long time. I'm selling my wrecked 97 Accord though and thought I'd post it in here to see if anyone is interested.

Part of the frame is bent where the radiator is bolted and i don't have the time and money to fix it. Car would still make a great DD or if you have one already, a good parts car.

roughly 157k miles on the engine and tranny(auto). AC and Heat work. Car still drives straight, starts fine, engine runs strong, most of the damage is cosmetic, but to get it to pass inspection I'd say it would still cost around $300 to $500 dollars. Car has a new radiator and hoses (maybe 2k miles on them) and has been regularly serviced since I bought it in 04.

Needs a new windshield, drivers side window switch (to get the power windows working), hood, and steering wheel and/or airbags. I'm not sure what VA laws are on replacing airbagged steering wheels with aftermarket ones to try to pass inspection, but that's what I was going to look into.

I'm asking between $350 and $400 for the car. Willing to take a trade on a running 7, and would throw in some cash, but I plan on moving this summer, so the less cars and more money I have the better.

my number is 719-2793 if your interested, or you can PM me or e-mail me at projectr13b@gmail.com. I would respond fastest to an e-mail during the week. I work 6-430 Monday through Friday.

Here's a few pictures. I'll try to get a good shot of the damage under the hood tomorrow. It's not awful, but I can't fix it in my parking lot.
