I just read your problem.. It is just flooded. Easy fix and you should be able to drive it tonite. My old car used to do this all the time.

Read this web page, and for that fact read all of Felix's web site. It sh
ould be required reading for new RX7 owners.

http://members.ij.net/mrmazda/cfaqtext.html#NOSTART

You are alrady basically down to "Five" in his list. Read all of them, but do what he says in five.

Pull the plugs out. Disconnect the fuse to the fuel pump. Crank it in short bursts until you see no fuel comming out of the spark plug holes, just air.

Put about 1 oz of automatic Transmission fluid (not oil) in the lower spark plug holes. Turn the engine over by hand a few times or slowly crank it with the starter, but just little bumps. You want to just spread the ATF around. If you can, put in NEW plugs. It probably needs them anyway if this happened. Then reconnect the fuses, and wires and start it. Let the smoke clear (it will smoke quite a lot for a few minutes) but it will clear up and be normal.

Most important, don't start it and cut it off after running for less than 5-10 minutes anymore.

Search the web for GSL SE unflooding proceedure (as they are the most prone to this) for more info if you don't believe what me or Felix recommends.

Also check out this site.....

Phooka's 12A is rebuilt and running in the car. He just needs to fine tune the carb and get a more legal exhaust system on it. You'd be pleased... It does sound good though.

I counted about 12 people last night. Pretty good group. Hope we do it again.

You had done some sort of oil in the rotor housings right? That sort ot means your plugs were showing their age.

Glad it is working now. Hope to see your car at an event sometime soon.

yeah, we think it was just the plugs...but we did unplug the fuse and plugs/wires and crank it....we saw the plugs and suggested to try it with new plugs...no oil/fluid into the housings

cause of the problem

so i ifnally take my car on a lil trip up to richmond. i was more worried about over heating in traffic and to my surprise my car did just fine. i get up there on the way my gas pedal got a lil bit harder to push. so i get to turbox2's (nick's) house i let it cool down. as i leave, the pedal still feels the same. i get into 3rd and the pedal feels like its dead and the car starts to whind down and shut off. so i pull over hit the switch for the pump and it starts up with the pump off then i throw it on and im fine the drive home.

any possible reason for this?

Randy's widebody is sweet ain't it? I have an extra GSLSE here that has no original value. I am thinking about one of those kits. I have one picked out. It will be a little while, but...

I have a widebody Mustang so I need a widebody RX7 to go along with it.

No time soon I guess

As I sift thru my vast Rotary inventory ... I've come to realize "Hey I have one of those!!!"

If anyone is interested I have a Mariah Mode1 Widebody Rx7 (same as Randy's) rolling chasis, if anyone is interested.

I thought so too, but the buyer has gone AWOL

As far as a trade is concerned... tempting, but I need to downsize my Rotary Empire (...man I thought I would never get to use that word )

well Brownie is smaller (not as wide) so that would be downsizing :-)
