Where is DTP located ??? The only problem with steve kahn is he does not come close enough to us , unless we set something up locally . wen need at lease 6 or maybe more to get him down here . I met him last year in MD. But that was a pretty good ride with a trailer and truck .

KD rotary, New Tripoli PA. Dave at KDR has built and tuned 2 3rd gens and my current 2nd gen for me and they have all been great. You're a 3rd gen right? You got any ideas on good seats and aftermarket headlights? My buddy wants me to upgrade his seats and change out the pre-auto headlight kit with a different flush mount kit.

I want to have the fd I just bought checked out ($3200, last on the road in 2000) and get an estimate for a butt load of repairs that the car needs, so I can decide if I want to keep it or get rid of it.

I checked in the n.e. Mechanics section and the only shop in the area was closed.

I also called a few "Japanese performance" shops in the phone book, and either they don’t do work on rotary, or I did not trust them to work on the car.

The guy that I normally take my FC's to wants to work on it but he is 200 miles away and that’s a tow bill I don’t want to pay.

There are a couple of mechanics here. You have Chris Rogers and Va Beach and you have Noel in Newport News. There is RP Performance also.


Not sure of your statement of not paying a tow bill for a good mechanic that you know. You can use U-haul trailer and a truck from Enterprise.

FD RX-7s are expensive to fix. You got a steal at $3200. Be prepared to spend lots more or quit while you are ahead and sell it.

Do you have any contact info for the mechanics that you mentioned? I looked up rp performance in the phone book and the Internet and got nothing.

As for FD being expensive to work on, I know, I am trying to figure if I want to keep it and start to dump money in to it, or sell it to some one with more time/experience/money. Given my current job / financial situation, normally I would not even consider an FD, but for the price I went a head and jumped on it.

As for the mechanic that I know, I asked him about working on it and he said that he does not have a lot of experience on the FD, but he would like to give it a shot. I would like to try some one a little closer to give me an idea what is wrong with the car (so I can get an idea about cost), then I will decide where/when to take it for the work, or if I even want to keep it.

I’m also considering selling my turbo FC to pay to fix the FD.

 

hey bud , you really did not mention what you need done , if its engine work let me know , I dont do body work , and 20B3rdgen is an electrical guru. Please give more info on what you need . If that was you on 664 , I was in the blue dodge truck honking the horn at you , but you looked to scared to look over ??????

Anybody here hang with the saturday night import crowd in hampton/newport news? Wasn't much of a show last night. A srt, wrx, and a couple of mustangs showed. A few fart-can equipped 240s and hondas were buzzing around.
I here they have huge turn outs some nights.

 

Yea when it warms up Bass pro is big, mainly american cars. But some imports. The Home Depot in Newport News has some good imports there too, just depends on the day. And Saturday sounds good to meet somewhere. Unless I get a watch or duty then I will be there.

 

I come out for a bit sometimes during the summer, but there's usually that one idiot that races, does doughnuts, or peels out that bring out the cops. I'm too old to deal with that kind of crap.
