well i have some great news about my 7 .
the smoking wasnt a fuel injector being stuck open cause i pulled them all off to check.. its when i was servicing the turbo off the car using a LOT of carb cleaner for certain parts on the turbo it must of gotten into the turbo like oil area and started to burn it off which i was thinking that it was a lot off fuel...
drove the car around and it burned it all out and now she dont smoke anymore.

When I worked in a parts shop, we had an account with them. They'd come over and setup boxes of fasteners and restock them as needed. Not sure if you can get individual pieces, but it can't hurt to try.
Isn't/wasn't there a fasterner shop somewhere behind the John Deere place on 17? Near Walmart...

Hampton Rubber will have all the adaptors (metric, An, metric to An, banjo, pipe thread, etc etc). They also carry a load of Russel and Aeroequipt stainless lines and anodized adaptors. Hell, they can even make any type of line you want dirt cheap be it inexpensive black rubber/silicon, or bling stainless braid.

+1 on Hampton Rubber. I have a bought a few adapters, you might want to take your stuff over there for proper sizing since they have a crap load of adapters.
I have a friend that has oil cooler lines from Hampton Rubber with aircraft quality fittings on it, very sleek looking and were cheap.
BTW, my Atkins rebuild kits came in, as soon as I have time I will be rebuilding my first engine by myself, cross your fingers!!!!!!!!! I figure I know a lot of ******** that can do it, why can't I. I am not Einstein, but I do have way above average intelligence.

Jerry, spend lots of time cleaning everything. Soak each of the parts in carb cleaner for a day or two, take your time, measure everything over and over. It will come out OK.
When you put it all together, if something does not "feel" right, it probably isn't. If you haven't watched the video tape from Atkins or whoever else sells them, call me and borrow mine (I might require a deposit to make sure I get it back :-) ) and watch it a few times.
Rubber bands are good to hold the rotor seals in place while assembly. So is grease or .... vaseline.....

I used vaseline. Lots of it! For the rebuild...

I went over to hampton rubber and they did not have what I needed , so I took the sensor which had the correct thread size but was not the right type of sensor over to my buddy at Apples machine shop . He cut the sensor in half ,removed the guts , and drilled and tapped the sensor to fit the one I needed . Took about 20 min

That is the simple solution I guess. That is what I used to do in those situations if at all possible. I just wish that I had a machine shop to my access to get things made the way I wanted.....

I datalogged a bit, and came home to analyze it. When I ran the MegaLogViewer, it said there was an upgrade available, so I did it. When I open the log, there is a new pane on the right side "Open MSQ" ... uh ok. So I open my MSQ (the saved config/control file from the MS), and there is now a VE Analyzer button. You get to set which RPM for it to use, and whether you have a wideband or narrowband. Then it corrects your VE (fuel) table!!! Sweet!

btw, has anyone used the electric air pump mod on an S5 to retain the operation of the VDI and aux ports? I really want to remove the air pump, acv, omp, omp lines and injectors, rats nest, and all the other junk in the engine bay 
I already have all of the necessary blockoff plates, and run premix.

guys silly question.
normally i would buy a standard clutch kit from like advanced or something like them. but i think wouldnt it be better to get a beefyer clutch kit since its turbo now? my question is what is a good brand of clutch say maybe a stage 2? setup? 300-400whp . what brand name are out there that support my setup and wont kill me in the wallet!!! i was thinking of getting ACT or clutch masters?

I finally got my buddy Armando to come drive my car while I tuned. We made a LOT of corrections to the fuel table, resulting in a much stronger pull to the 8700 redline. I really need to spend some time on hot starts. Monkeying with the fuel table while we ran caused the car to stall out when I flashed the ECU (oops), and we had a hard time starting it... twice! Overall, I am very pleased. The only thing I can complain about is my patience with hot starts. At one time we (Peter and I) had it pretty close to OK, but the car is no longer at that point. The idle is a little rough, too. It's only time, right?

This event is Saturday. I am going and so are a few other locals. There are over 60 people registered and paid for the event, so there should be a pretty good crowd there.
MSCCNC RBQ '06 at VIR
This is an event being put on by the Mazda Sports Car Club of NC. They are a pretty good group of people who do quite a number of track events. I usually hang with them at some of the Performance Driving Schools at VIR. This is going on in conjunction with an SCCA road race at Virginia International Raceway. This your chance to see an entire day of road racing (free tickets!!) with lots of rotary powered Mazdas (mostly first gens, but some of all 3 generations, plus I am sure there will be some RX3-4's on the track too) along with open wheel formula cars, all sorts of sports cars, sports sedans, etc. You will definately enjoy it.

as for meets calvin i think ill be able to only make the awful arthers meet coming up soon.
